I've got a 1991 940 with one of the hardlines on the steering rack rotted. I went to a guy who's really good with volvo's and he wasn't able to find the part. So I took it out myself thinking maybe I can use a brake flaring tool to make one. The nuts themselves look like standard nuts but It looks like it would be very difficult to make the unusual flare.... It flares out under the nut, then flares back in to an even smaller diameter than what the line is, then flares back out with a rubber seal on the small diameter.
What do I do about this? Is there a tool I can get without too much money to do this tricky flaring? Is this tricky flaring in other vehicles so maybe I could buy any tube that has it and cut and splice it with standard brake line connectors?
