In Topic: What Are The Advantages Of 147Mm Rods?

I'm not completely positive, but it's my understanding that the longer rods are for the newer white blocks. Also a different piston to coinside. I'd do some really good homework before I started swapping stuff around. Remember these are interference motors and you don't want more interference than designed if you like keeping your valves intacked.
yeh sorry, the 147mm rods have a shorter piston which obviously i'd swop/use. Just wondered what advantages there are to using the newer combination & if it was worth swopping from my older set-up to the new while changing the rods anyway

hey mr fandango - you're doing quite a lot of work to your car there but not the cleaning up part =P. I would at least brush those rust away and paint over them. Keep everything nice and clean.
priority is just to get her finished & back on the road at the minute, i mess around & re-do everything too often to make it look nice & tidy first time around. Once i know it works then i'll spend some time on the appearance
