Non-Volvo, Read: Suzuki Motorcycle

22 April 2012 - 09:10 PM

Recently purchased another bike, a 2001 Bandit 1200. This is my second Bandit, my previous 97 Bandit 1200 was stolen while I was living in Arizona, with just under 50,000 miles and no issues just maintenance.... I'm definitely a fan of the Bandits/Suzuki.
I'm a master technician at a multi-line dealership (including Suzuki w/ Honda, Yamaha, CanAm, Polaris/Victory, etc...), so I see a few deals come in. This bike was a dealer purchase, meaning the owner was only interested in selling the bike to the dealer, most likely trying to get rid of it because of the issues that needed to be addressed... some making this bike un-rideable, even dangerous. After a thorough inspection, I jumped on this bike. Obviously found some big issues, but everything due to neglect/lack of maintenance. Parts wise, I've got under $100 in repairs (being fair, that's employee pricing on OEM parts, so closer to $300 retail), but labor is close to ten hours; nearly 6 in rebuilding the carburetors and putting it on the Dyno for final air/fuel adjustments (I've found I can usually get within 1/2 a point on my ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD-dyno which is usually in the good-as-it-gets scenario with carbs)... after a few fourth gear pulls, the tune is on the nuts (with all my dyno time/tuning, I've gathered a great deal of parts for all the tuning points of motorcycle carbs, which brings my cost down even more).
If there's any interest, I'll go in to more details... So, aside from work and family, this thing will be taking up much of my free time, after I replace another axle seal on the Volvo.

Before fixing the horrible wiring job someone did to installing this horrible quality headlight setup from Aztec8 (crap). Wires were twisted together and wrapped with tape. Headlights are not located adequately, so they move quite easily with bumps on the road. There are plans to change this, using OEM Suzuki parts and their 7" round headlight, with a small bikini fairing

So, I've done some searching and ordered up a new BCS. I've also got the pig tail with plug that is needed. In some of the threads I've read polarity must be reversed for the new BCS to work in the Volvo. Can anyone explain which wires need to be spliced and added where? I understand there's only two, but I'm away from the vehicle and curious.
