Clear rock chip protection is the best.  

I had my R bumper completely wrapped in one strip (usually they do complicated bumpers like that in two strips).  Was about $300 and comes with a lifetime warranty.   Eventually I will get my hood repainted and then get it fully wrapped as well (the entire hood, not just the first few feet), costs somewhere around $400-500.

Find a reputable shop (or talk to body shops, they usually have mobile guys that do it) and get a quote.
