A cold hardstart can be the result of a few things but its very easy to narrow them down.
Fuel Pressure Gauge, let it sit and see if the fuel pressure is dropping out of the rail after you turn off the car. So its leaking 1 of 2 ways.. The injectors are leaking and you can check this by simply lifting them up and putting plastic bags over them when they are still in the rail. If they are not leaking into the intake you will need to replace your check valve in the fuel system usually located near or on the pump. When its a hot restart usually the fuel doesnt have enough time to leave the rail and you get an easy restart.
Engine Temp Sensor, Check resistance across the sensor if its zero your car is trying to start without the cold start injection duty cycle. There is a list for proper temp reading vs resistances in the manual.
As far as on boost misfire.
If you are going rich its very likely possible that its a few things but it narrows down to two things
Electrical issue (Cap/Rotor/Coil/Plug wires/Plug gap) Set gap to .020-.024 before doing anything else!
Boost Leak (The most common problem outside of plug gap!) Everything is tight? Really? Put smoke on it or pressure anything else is just a guessing game of fail. I have seen split intercooler endcaps/fins failed CBV recirc valves that a simple its tight will never find. Not to mention the hard to find torn boot or fitting that can avoid even the sharpest eyes.
If you are going lean then it comes down to one thing
Fuel (Pressure and if that is good then check your injector on time with something like a vantage)

So, I finally have decided to make my response.
Water/Meth injection is fucking stupid and more importantly its only made worse by the products promoted in the OP and that is what my post is going to be centered around.
Anyways, running water/meth on your factory turbo makes no sense at all and here is why I think the way I do.
The factory turbos 15g and 16T as all of you know cannot flow enough to keep boost at higher RPM's meaning they simply cannot output any more CFM. The same is actually true of the 18t and 19t if you have rods your simply able to push the turbos beyond there limits on pump gas.
The main gain from water/meth is that it will cool your intake and combustion and act like additional octane! So you can run more boost! but lets not kid anyone here your not running any more boost because remember you got a shitty turbo that cannot flow any more air. There is no more pushing it further in the compressor map.. There isnt any map left its fucking done no more flow
So we move onto the next gain and that is the cooling effect on the intake and combustion. I will agree without a doubt that this will cause the intake charge to become more dense then it was previously! However, we have a few problems I think we might want to address as they are pretty important. The first being that water and water/meth are not fuels as they do not combust unlike strait methonal. So basically we have increased our air (Denser from the colder charge) without increasing fuel!
Since we have no provision for injecting additional fuel to offset this colder air because we have injected our water/meth after the MAF sensor. As a bonus our injecting of this water/meth has lead to decreased MAF reading as it does infact take up some volume. So we have less fuel and more air and usually thats a real bad mix but fortunately for us it does increase octane rating so its not a big deal. This mixture has also reduced the combustion power of our actual fuel as well so your colder air is offset somewhat by a less powerful fuel. So lets say we see gains from -10 to 10 whp... Why -10? Remember cold days there is nothing to be gained your intercooler is already giving a cold charge and now you have less fuel and a less effective fuel. We have also increased our chance for detonation because of the fuel situations on the hot days were the water/meth is more effective.
So what can we do about this problem of fuel well thats simple we can tune for it! Brilliant! so as mentioned we can now mess with timing and fuel but wait how do we deal with this problem of dumb engine computer/dumb water-meth? Well We can tune for a cold day but gains might not exist as timing basically has to offset the reduction in air into the motor and if we do this we basically run into this amazing problem of having all this timing and when the fuel isn't there on a hot day because your actually making more power and now you got a shit ton of timing dialed in you got yourself a bunch of detonation
. So we can tune on a hot day! FUCK YEA! we can see some impressive gains if we push up the fuel volume in the tune and add in a bunch of timing! we might see something like 20whp gain!
but then it gets cold and now we have a shit ton of fuel and timing and the combustion air isnt any colder so we are going to lose something like -20whp
oh we also get to add in the what if my kit stops working and I got all this timing dialed in your going to have some issues
So, yea I still think this idea of cheap water/meth kits is fucking retarded and thats me giving them larger gains they they will likely produce but lets continue...
Anways, you can buy progressive controllers! YAY!!!
Wait a second this doesn't fix any of my problems! since water/meth still isnt a fuel I still have to run my fuel based on my maf sensor and basically this isn't going to help shit not to mention you will get less meth on hot days vs cold days the opposite of what you want.
However, if you want to run water/meth on your factory turbo go for it but I am going to continue to call you a ricer and even if you have a bigger turbo you should be running methonal strait with a real kit for the same reasons mentioned in my post.
