Just an update, everything is back in now. The dash is a little quieter over bumps, and I feel better that the reinforcement is there on the tabs for future crack prevention (hopefully).

One remaining problem is that many of the glovebox screw points are broken, it was beyond epoxy. The glovebox plastic is pretty junky. I might order a new glovebox at some point, might just leave it as is. If I get a new one, I'll probably try to apply some epoxy to it to beef up the mounting points before installing.

Got the main part of the dash back in last night, will finish the steering wheel, upper pad, etc, tonight.

You guys were correct on the second hole. After measuring the bolts and clearances through the firewall, I did in fact need the second hole on the back of the mounts to allow the screws to poke through past the retaining nuts, not much, but enough that the holes were needed. The middle two mounts were pretty easy to drill, but for the two outside ones, it was tricky to get the drill in there without removing the aluminum strips. For those, I ended up drilling a small pilot hole, then a medium hole, then the 3/8" hole. Starting with the 3/8" hole wouldn't work due to the angles in there, and I don't have a right-angle drill. Anyway, I eventually got it done.

The main dash feels pretty tight so far, I think the epoxy reinforcement on the lower side arm mounts (down by the footwells) helped to reduce some play and squeakiness as well.
