Morning folks. Ive got a bit of a vibration problem with my S60. im trying to figure out. I just got this car about three weeks ago. It has a pretty noticable vibration when im on the highway and accelerate. For example, I could be on the interstate crusing at 60 and its smooth as butter, no vibration. Then if I accelerate to 70 or more, it shakes like a son of a gun until i get up the speed i want, then it smoothes out again. It only vibrates while im accelerating. It has the 235/45/17 tires, theyre Sumitomo HTRZ that are still in really good shape. I had them balanced, and they all balanced out perfectly, the wheels looked to spin true as well.
Ive been told that it could be a bad axle, but ive never had a bad axle cause anything like this. Someone said to get an infrared thermometer, go for a long test drive to get everything up to temp, then measure the heat in both joints on both axles. If one is significantly hotter than the other it could be bad, I just dont see how it could ride so smooth while crusing, then vibrate so bad when accelerating.
Anyone have any experience with anything like this? Oh and i checked out all the mounts, they all look ok. The front lower mount is still good, doesnt look like its collapsed or anything.
Thanks folks.

Just Bought A 2008 S60T, Have A Couple Questions Please.

Good afternoon folks!
So I recently was forced to upgrade from a 1998 S70 base with 206K miles to a 2008 S60T with 96K miles. My beloved S70 was minding its own business parked out in front of the house when a drunk 27 year old came down the street playing vehicular pinball and totalled her out. So I picked up this S60. Its in great shape and seems to have ben taken great care of. The mileage is high but as far as i can tell its all Texas highway miles. Apparently the teacher that owned it before me had a hell of a commute. Ill update my sig asap, ive been somewhat inactive in the forums lately.
I was wondering when timing belts are due on these particular models. Ive heard the interval is every 100K miles but wanted to double check.
It also has the TPMS indicator on. This is actually a feature I can do without. Ive never had a problem keeping up with my tire pressure on my own. Do you guys know if the sensors in the wheel can be replaced with standard valve stems. And if so, do I just have to live with the indicator light being on from here on out? Or can this feature be disabled somehow. Thanks and I look forward to talking to y'all in this forum. Ive always been in the 1998 and older forum.
