  1. I'm obviously not driving my car enough for that to happen. ;)
  2. Ok, so its similar to MS. Either use Resistors or a Flyback board.
  3. Can VEMS handle LOW Z injectors? I have a few 1000cc injectors then.
  4. Correct. It's essentially identical to the head of the 2.5 found in the S40/XC90 from that era.
  5. Did you test it? I would not have epoxied the cables yet.
  6. I was referring to my MS set up. Haven't run the TT in a while. I will check it though when I go and see doug this weekend (he is running my TT). What I meant to ask is any guesses why Volvo/Motronic keeps the timing so low at idle?
  7. Do you know why the timing is so low on idle? I have my timing set MUCH higher than that for idle.
  8. IAC is the toughest part. Dual Coil Solenoid IAC Control Found in some BMWs (Bosch) along with Toyota & Subaru, These have three pins, one of which is common, one is a solenoid that opens the idle valve, the other is a solenoid that closes the valve. If neither coil is activated the valve remains in a 50% open poisition (preset-spring type), or moves freely between opened/close position (no spring type). EC36-pin6 to IAC close pin EC36-pin17 to IAC open pin Configuration Set IAC actuator speed/pwm freq stepper speeds : 0 - 976 steps/s, 1 - 488, 2 - 326, 3 - 244, 4 - 195, 5 - 163, 6 - 139, 7 - 122, 8 - 108, 9 - 98, 10 - 89, 11 - 81, 12 - 75, 13 - 70, 14 - 65, 15 - 61. pwm freq: 0 - 244 Hz, 1 - 195, 2 - 163, 3 - 139, 4 - 122, 5 - 108, 6 - 98, 7 - 89, 8 - 81, 9 - 75, 10 - 70, 11 - 65, 12 - 61, 13 - 57, 14 - 54, 15 - 51.
  9. Datalog doesn't have any of the timing pull you used to have. Overall looks like good progress.
  10. Just as an FYI, Doug broke a Valve Spring retainer because (our conclusion) of overreving the engine. 8000+ is not good for our valves from what I have seen so far. With given mods 8K maybe ok but 8400-8600 seems to be a tad too high.
  11. The clutch is the issue. The spline count is different on the M66 and since all cars came with DM that had a M66, its the only clutch/PP version on the market AFAIK.
  12. Not according to their website... They only recommend to get the sprung version of the clutch disc for the spec version. http://www.vivaperformance.com/single-mass-flywheel-m66-awd-manual-gearbox/
  13. How is the overall height of the new setup compared to the old setup? hard to tell on the pic if there is any difference or not.
  14. If I remember correctly Motronic uses Spark cut as its rev limiter, maybe fuel cut as a secondary hard limiter. Not sure if thats still the case with TT. I can see that the engine can maybe go 100-200 RPM past that but when spark is cut (and fuel) the engine will not rev higher (unless the fuel self ignites which it shouldn't). I have three limiters set on MS and they all work and won't let me over rev the engine. I have a soft limiter that retards timing, then spark cut and fuel cut after that. It never gets to the fuel cut limiter. Please correct me if I'm wrong but thats how I remember Motronic to handle the rev limiter.
  15. Well since Carlisle is over now, he's got no reason to stay with TT.
  16. Go back to 7600 on TT. I have observed that I can overrev it well over 8000 (even over 8400), sometimes it feels like there is no rev limiter at all.
  17. Yes and no. There have been issues with specs but when they work they WORK.
  18. I was looking through the swedespeed classifieds. Someone was selling a 2009 Ford Focus RS(?) engine. Posted a few pics. Not sure if our coolant pipes to the oil cooler are in the way though. The ones on the pic are clearly different.
  19. Looks like they used that location for the drain on the focus engines.
  20. There is no way I can run 147s if your piston already looks like that.
