I was hoping for a more uniform color. I used a sponge applicator then wiped off the excess. But the stain came off in patches, you can actually see the brush strokes...it looks really awful in bright lighting.
It seems like my wood staining skills still need a lot of work. This exquisitely horrendous hand rubbed finish, exudes oodles of that rustic Je Ne Sais Quoi, which I will refer to as being, "very charming". :)
On the laminate, I basically went full throttle all the time. In the garage I had a track laid out and since my goal was to keep within the boundaries but drift on the hairpins, I really can't go too crazy on the throttle. Otherwise it will oversteer like it did the last few seconds before I collided with the camera table. It was hard to initiate the drift at such low speeds. I have a flash version on my facebook page.

Thanks. I had to edit the footage because I only had one camera and wanted a few different angles. Plus I am a bad driver and the editing makes me look like a pro! :)
You're welcome Mike. I figured since there are no indoor circuits (i know of) to run on-road RC cars, I decided to go the drifting route since a skilled driver requires very little area and I can do it in my garage.
I'm still honing my technique and quite relieved I didn't have to move my furniture this time.
