You said you "bet" JFK was not a good president...you have no idea. "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country". He resolved the Cuban Missile crisis. Do you know what that was? JFK created the Peace Corps. "I bet" that was a good idea. He was going to pull out of Vietnam before it turned into the big mess it was. On top of that, he contained Nuclear Testing to underground areas to prevent radiation. He was also much more subtle with how he handled Iraq. Everybody focuses on the Bay of Bigs, as that was a bit of a blunder (casualty wise). A lot of what Kennedy said could not be carried out because he was assassinated, but if you look up "New Frontier", you'll find a lot of info on his tax ideas. I'm guessing you don't know about the children (black children) who were not let into an Alabama school by the state. Kennedy sent troops down and intervened, allowing them to go to school. That would be that little thing called the Civil Rights Act of 1964. He also focused on allowing more immigration from Latin America and ASIA, so you might wanna thank him. And he wanted to explore a little bit of that area in the sky called space. He was awarded Pacem in Terris after his death. If you want a good read, Profiles in Courage has a few stories about some ballsy Congressman. It might help you figure out who you bet was good or not in our country's history. Any guy who has like 30 memorials to his name probably wasn't much of a president... :arob:
