LOL, crazy indeed but trust me, you try to pull that same stuff in a crit in the US and you'd be out of the race in a heartbeat. Even French amateur racing isn't that agressive. There's a reason they're pros.

Most places will try to be as discreet as possible and will try to match the weave. The Trek was painted white and was returned to me painted perfectly. I've seen a lot of race bikes with patches on them. It's just a scar, most people don't care.

Not true anymore. There's anything from the DIY kit with Youtube instructions to the full manufacturer service at a high premium. Personally: 2 visits to Calfee Designs in CA, I would trust them with any repair needed on my carbon frame. Remember the aluminum frames that would get junked after getting a bad ding on the top tube ? Short of buying Ti, most metals have the same risks as carbon when it comes to damage and the effects on resale value, etc...

It speaks volume about his attention to details. He'll cost me more than local talent but ultimately, I'll feel comfortable flogging that car around corners knowing that he had it for a month and looked at everything.

I got laid into by Yves for not tightening two transmission bolts. He's adjusted the valves (main reason it ran like ass) and is now tuning the K-jet beast.

You don't need that soft a tire to just ride on. Switch to a conti GP4000 or something similar, you're running a race tire on NE roads. It's not going to work out for you.

My reaction too. Great move on his part, especially given the driver's obvious lack of safety for others but I wouldn't be surprised if he got stuck with a hefty insurance bill for both his truck and the stolen car he just damaged.
