  1. Yeah, I love my Sidis. 4 hours in them Saturday: never any issue that day or the next. My Mavics had gotten to be so soft, I'd have numb feet an hour into a ride and my feet would be sore the next day.
  2. I had issues with my Specialized shoes a couple years ago and ended up selling them for a song and switching. Their inserts are decent and help to some extent but you should not be getting hot spots unless your foot is not sitting properly in the shoe.
  3. Hahahahaha! Yesterday was the same way here, things got a little tricky at times. Still got 4 hours on the bike yesterday, couldn't be happier with it.
  4. You carry hand sanitizer, don't you ? It's the one thing that makes my father in law rage. And I mean RAGE.
  5. Pat, remove the bit about delivering the bike. It just sounds fishy. Mike: almost couldn't see the bike, the Volvo letters on your grille were so big........
  6. Not sold on the plastidipped front end but I'm impressed by the engine work. I missed the update, what wheels are you running now ?
  7. Give it another week and you'll be used to it. It took me about 10 days at the shop I use to stop making an ass of myself. I was able to get the Land Rover on it today, it does make life much easier. Looking forward to updates on the cars you will get. You're fine, and you know probably already know that. Update the thread when you get it installed, and let me know when I need to ship the R5 to you. Best tool I bought from IPD. I agree that the adapters are great. 12-15 psi and you have a solid brake pedal feel.
  8. Buddy, have I got a deal for you! I didn't realize you didn't have any rooms above your garage, I agree that rearranging the joists may be your best shot. Should be fine and you'll have better use of the lift that way.
  9. Uptown problems, I know, but still. I am able to fit 2 cars on "my" side, keeps her happy which means everyone's happy. Current set up:
  10. I would, but it does make shifting that much better to have a nice straight line going into the deraillleur.
  11. Alain: easiest fix around the wife issue is to unplug that door when you work on it, or lock it. But I agree, you're trying to fit a lot into a small space, it involves compromise.
  12. I responded. Love them. No numbness, they're snug (I have narrower feet than most people), the heel cup system is genius and they look cool. And I was able to find them in Sydney for a song, never thought I could grab those shoes for that price.
  13. Ignore the test saddle from Fizik, I'll swing by and swap it out tomorrow. Bar none, the best bike I've ever owned. Twitchy without being unpredictable, stiff in both the head tube and the rear end, as it sits in the picture it weighs just under 16 lbs. Great bike.
  14. I've looked into it, and a few on here have seen my garage. Not much height, so I ended up finding space to rent in town. Not always convenient (every time I want to work on a car, I have to head to shop or tie up the garage), but I was worried about resale, etc... Thought about building something in the yard since we have the room and may still do that it we find that we want to stay in this house.
  15. Is it really going to be that much easier to work on cars if they're essentially 4-5 ft off the ground ? You're still at an awkward angle. Figure the roof of the car won't ever go past the ceiling (hopefully!), that leaves you 9 ft less the height of the car's body, that's not much to work with! And to answer your question: no experience, but I do know of two local mechanics who ended up renting space instead of doing the home lift thing when they actually saw how little they were gaining.
  16. Alden, I think it's pretty common. I noticed that it was easier to ride in the cold after 5-6 rides but it's still a tough 15-20 minutes at first. I have to sit down when I get off the bike after a very cold ride, I tend to get dizzy.
  17. "That's a tranny on a tranny." A local rider has named all 5 of his dogs after bike parts. Turns out he's not the only douche who does that......
  18. I'd be down for it. At some point I'll make it back up there.
  19. It's the chain guard. CR1 and other Scott frames have a small plastic ring that clamps around the tube but higher end frames have it integrated into the CF. It can be backed out using the screw and prevents the chain from falling behind the small chain ring. Nice way to avoid chewing up a frame.
  20. Please post the day pic of this on here. I know it's technically not what the thread is about, but it's too good not to share on VS.
  21. Guess I'll find out soon, I honestly don't remember.
  22. Buyer left me glowing feedback, couldn't believe I used wax on the frame and cleaned the cassette for him. Glad he likes it, he says it looks better than any used bike he's seen. He already asked about my current frame. Speaking of which, come on Thursday!!!!!!
