    My Renault 5 will be an antique in France in a few months. Difference in taxes will be 7.5% vs the current 19.6 % VAT. I imported a Lancia Delta last month as an antique, odd thing to do but obviously legal now.

    Not an RI, the cost/benefit ratio didn't add up for me. I could very well go that route soon though since I finally have a shop in mind. And yes, it's funny to see which cars graduate to the 25 yr exemption, I automatically start getting a lot of requests for these cars!

    Any car over 25 years old is fine. I do those all the time and they're fairly easy. Shipping doesn't have to cost $5K, it really depends who you use. Last car was just over $1200 from Italy to the US.
