  1. Zaitz, love those hummingbirds. We have a feeder up at the cottage but my little cousins have a habit of knocking it off it's branch Here are a few I took at an outdoor boat show this weekend:
  2. Got you covered there I've been shooting a fair bit of film lately so the D70 has been neglected. The dust spots really retract from the image quality though, I'll be dropping it off pretty soon. Appreciate it, I don't usually shoot in direct sunlight and my brain was in vacation mode. Some of the recent photos you've been posting are awesome. I recall you got a hold of some extension tubes, makes me want to look into it.
  3. Nope, unfortunately left it in the boat
  4. Two I took up north last week using my D70 and 18-105: gdizzle has let me know my sensor needs cleaning, haven't quite gotten around to it yet...I guess that's a fail on my part. Other than that, C&C away folks.
  5. I love the 18-105, picked one up for my D70 earlier this spring. $270 American or Euro? I paid around $350 Canadian for mine new in packaging but Canada is known to pay more for stuff . Congrats on the purchase and the ezine job, enjoy the lens!
  6. Those all look like rather nice tripod heads...Have any of you used/demoed a Manfrotto 222? (http://www.amazon.com/Manfrotto-222-Joystick-Head-Replaces/dp/B0018QOGNW/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1279392448&sr=1-7) I have one atop my tripod and it's been great so far. Whoops...link: Manfrotto 222 on Amazon
  7. I am, yeah. Almost bought an E30 a couple of years ago. Haven't commented yet, but your dog shots always have nice color. If you post-pro, what do you do? As far as my shot goes, I thought it would be ok to settle for the average shot instead of get closer, scare the bird away and have no shot
  8. No post-pro. Didn't want to scare the little guy so I shot at a zoom, too bad the furniture was in the way. Nikon D70 with the 18-105 Nikkor, shot MF. As always, C&C welcome!
  9. Had some Fuji 64T developed, I love this film! #2 is with my Rokkor-X 28MM f2.8 wide angle and a UV filter, #1 and #3 are with my Rokkor-X PF 50MM f1.7 and a regular filter. Body is a Minolta X-700, these are Blacks negative scans. As always, comments and constructive criticism are welcome
  10. Sensor eh? Thought it was my dirty filter .
  11. Two I took on a nice day a month or so ago. Nikon D70 w/ a 18-70MM Nikkor DX (D70s kit lens). Any feedback at all is welcomed, I know there's a little bit of debris on the lens in the second one and not everyone appreciates lens flare
  12. They ought to be pretty cheap on eBay these days, it's a relatively dead technology in North America as far as I know...can you locate the MD deck on any foreign parts lists or in the computer? That is awesome. I've heard of rare Nakamichi double-din MD/tape/CD decks but OEM integration is something else!
  13. It was, Sony's ridiculous ATRAC-3 situation turned a lot of people off. If I remember correctly, the way to cram the most music on was to lower the quality to 64kbps! I was lucky then, I could use NetMD software to rip CDs...if I had to manually use the line in and title tracks I would have given up after disc one
  14. 8th grade...how old would that make you now? I recorded all mine 5-6 years ago and I still enjoy 80% of the music
  15. Was cleaning/organizing and came across some of the old Sony NetMD system. Anyone ever rep one? I loved it in high school before iPods became larger capacity and more affordable. The iPhone won't wake/turn on for an alarm? my Curve goes off every night and wakes me in the morning. iPhones have been tempting me lately but this is a srs issue here!
  16. Was this a pissing contest? I thought it was a chance for everyone to speculate on the cost of an education and commiserate on our collective debt
  17. Jesus H, tuition in America is expensive! I have no idea how the quality of schools/education differs, but most Ontario universities (colleges to the Americans if that terminology is still correct), mine included, come in at under 10K a year for tuition!
  18. That's fair, perks of being an English student are there is no required software. Was the Dell spec'd similarly? I found the difference 300-500 but not near 1000 when I priced laptops out a couple of years ago.
  19. Have you ever used a Mac before? If you're an iPhone fan it would be logical to think you appreciate a simple and easy to use GUI...voila, OS X. I'm by no means an Apple fanboy (I have a BlackBerry and an IBM as well as my MBP) but to say Apple doesn't make good software is a touch out of line. Obvious edit: You did say it was your opinion but I would like to know why you think this is so...
  20. D70 went breast up today, apparently the shutter assembly freezing/breaking is a known defect <_<
  21. Plugged in the camera and forgot I had these from Labor Day. My two favorites.. C&C welcome.
  22. Like it, still looking for the right set of rims and don't want to be stock?
  23. OE is 2 bucks? Canada makes us pay $5.50 for that rancid pond water... Correction, Ontario makes us pay $5.50
