  1. I did indeed. No more unwanted wheelspin/torquesteer :D
  2. Datalogging equipment arrived today.... Innovate OT-1 & SSI-4 Put this up under the dash -converts analog signal from AEM Wideband for input into the OT-1 serial cable from SSI-4 routed under center console & out into armrest storage.... OT-1 connected.. tomorrow I have to do some trial datalogging... to evaluate the fuel & ign mapping then I can move onto TurboTuner :D
  3. My motor was rebuilt 14K ago, and the turbo is less than a year old, but I'm still assuming it's the turbo, since I still get a fair amount in the piping, etc. I think a modified breather would be wise.. I don't have any detonation, that I can discern - I've had spark blowout, but no detonation that I've ever felt. Of course, that doesn't mean it hasn't happened on a discreet level, since I'm not testing for it in any way. Anyhow - I'm off to put my AWD back in, I'm tired of all the wheelspin through third
  4. Indeed I am. It's on it's way to me from CA Soon. BTW - my oil smoke on heavy decel came back once I raised boost over 21psi - it only happens when testing, since in normal driving I don't wind it out to 7K in 3rd & then snap the throttle shut
  5. The injectors are modified by Five-0 to run @ 50lbs, and they're working great! The FP is the stock AWD pump - which is higher volume than the FWD models. I don't intend on replacing it anytime soon. Once the tune is revised so I can drop my base pressure back under 3.8bar, this pump should be fine. It was OK with the greens @ 5bar, just couldn't go over 17psi boost because it would lean out, but that's more likely due to the discrepancy between the tune & maxxing out the greens...
  6. In the interest of full disclosure - I'm not AWD right now (see last sentence of previous post ) - but, it does break free even with the AWD, just not this extreme, and no appreciable torque steer Don't think I'm gonna dyno until I get my Innovate stuff & do a little datalogging/analysis. I want to make sure it's really right.
  7. I'm not looking to replace my Mac. I usually use my desktop G5 at home, and have a 4 yr old iBook that I use elsewhere. I also have a 3-4 year old Toshiba laptop on permanent loan that I haven't looked at yet (because I intensely dislike looking at windows)- I'm assuming I can use that for datalogging & TT. Anyhow, got Adam to ride with me so I could get a short video with the 50lb'ers set to 4.2bar base (approx 625cc) now I'm in the ballpark the Woth tune is intended for. Don't know why the Siemens 625cc run so shitty in my setup, but they do. Anyway here it is.. Youtube video from today AFR's are much better! I also put the Volvo plugs back in gapped @ .029", as this morning I had missfiring over 20psi with the NGK race plugs (gapped @ .032" (probably could have tried regapping the NGK's, but I didn't feel like it). The problem now is keeping the car on the road I plan on putting the BG back in, now that my oil pan mod is done.
  8. Ordered Innovate IN-3790 & SSI-4 so I can start datalogging my shit. Getting tired of the seat of the pants testing & trying to note what AFR's are at... this does mean I'll need to start using a fkn PC, I guess. My mac laptop doesn't run Windows, it not intel processor. I'll need to do this for TT anyway, so I guess I'll just have to get used to the darkside ..put the 50lb reds in today, @ 4bar base (605cc) - 3.2bar under vacuum 5.2bar under current boost level of 22psi. AFR's settled to 14.7 @ idle no problem, but in a 3rd gear pull, AFR's climbed to 14 by the end of 3rd gear. So, it's too lean @ 605cc, and I'm still not up to 24psi I'll try tweaking the base pressure to get the 625cc range back. This all suggests that the 625cc Siemens just don't like ME4.4 - I guess. The vendor said they all flow tested "fine" but won't provide flow data unless I pay $10 per injector. Guess I won't be buying from EFI Components again.
  9. 50lb Red's came today; Five-O provides flow data with the set should have time to install them tomorrow..
  10. I know I just put the 468's back in so I could at least drive the car, and to confirm it was a tune calibration issue with the 625's. I'm not datalogging - I need to get the RS232 connector, and now that I have a PC laptop (for TT), I assume I can readily find datalogging software. I looked on AEM's website & didn't find any info on datalogging. Any insight you can provide on setting up to datalog AFR's would be greatly appreciated!
  11. I don't have any spec on the Bosch injectors, I'll have to ask Five-O. The Siemens specs are listed on my seller's listing: Gain: 0.11ms/mg Offset: 0.055ms Turn on time @ 14VDC: 1.14ms Turn off time: 0.85ms @ 600KPa Factory Tolerance: +/-6 % Spray Pattern: Cone (4-Hole) The car was running rich across the board with the 625's - too lean with the 468's, even @ 5bar. I hoping that the 50lbs @ 4bar (605cc) will fit the bill, until I get the tune recalibrated for the actual flow rates of the siemens. And yes, I'll be very happy once I get TT and can make adjustments dynamically. :D
  12. That's your actual output(!) ? Or is that extrapolated?
  13. Thanks for the post, I appreciate the heads up on the rail. EDIT: checked the listing, these 0280156013-500 injectors are 3" - what's the Bosch # on yours?
  14. Still in wait mode... ... 625cc's out for flow testing... In the mean time, I just ordered a set of these.... Bosch Red Top EV1 Gen III 50lb Injecotrs I can run them @ 3 or 4bar, and see if that resolves my over-rich AFR's 53.5lb/hr, 560cc/min at 50psi (3-1/2 bar) 57.7lbs/hr, 605cc/min at 58psi (4 bar) 61.2lbs/hr, 640cc/min at 62psi (4-1/2 bar)
  15. Tried two sets of 625's same issue, has to be the calibration of the tune. It just doesn't like the flow rate. resistance is identical to Volvo Greens 12.2ohms. The company will flow test the injectors I sent back, and give me flow rates at 2.5, 3, 3.5 & 4 bar. I can then give this info to Jan, & see what's up. I think I may look for some 50-55lb injectors to try... any ideas? I don't want to maintain 5bar to the rail, it just doesn't seem healthy.... I'm assuming my TT will be here before too long, hopefully next week or two - then I can try calibrating the 625's borrowed from Maciek & see how that goes.. at once I have TT I can send the RECU back to Jan, which looks like the next necessary step.
  16. Well, it doesn't look good. The more I drive it with the 625's the worse it gets (at idle/part throttle). This morning was OK first thing, but I went out just now, and the AFR's are starting 14.7, dropping to 11.6-9, then pegging lean. If I blip the throttle, I can get it to come back to the rich side, but it seems that it's just so rich. I sent the injectors out today for flow testing, but chances are that they are actually fine. I'll stop @ Volvo again this afternoon to hook up the tester, but I'm sure I'm gonna see the 02 pegged. I'll try & note the injector pulse time. I can try changing plugs, etc.. but it really seems that it is the tune. , Since with the greens flowing approx 535cc @5bar, it runs & drives great, I just can't run over 20psi boost, and I'm concerned about running that much pressure to the rail ('98's only have regulated pressure to the rail, the regulator is down by the PS rack....) Not sure what to do now. TT should be here soon, so I may have to wait for that to see if I can get things right @ idle w/the 625 @ 3bar, then I'll know that it is in fact the tune calibration If I hadn't exploded the clutch in the X1/9, I'd just leave this be, but I need it as my DD right now.
  17. Well, many thanks to Maciek, who drove all the way from LI to bring me a set of 625cc's to try! Rough issue gone - but still very rich @ idle, and in our little run, I had AFR's up to 14.4 in 3rd pull & some missfire So, we'll see how the AFR's settle tomorrow, and I have to maybe swap back the Volvo plugs & wires again
  18. 99- oil pan w/oil cooler In addition, requires water distribution pipe, Turbo oil & water feed pipes & elbow hose.
  19. I know - I looked back at my original thread on the siemens injectors - I overpaid compared to most everyone else
  20. replied - I was busy checking that Mustang Forum...
  21. So, having gone nuts checking every goddamn thing under the hood that could conceivably impact this, I put the Greens back in, raised the Base Fuel Pressure to 5bar(!) to get the AFR's down to 14.7 @ idle (lower than that, the AFR's went right off the lean end). Now, idle is good, no loading up, no erratic running, no massive soot clouds on decel. So, after all that, the new injectors (or injector - one cyl was fouling) are not flowing evenly at closed throttle/part throttle. Now, I have to see if the vendor will help me out on this. Anyone got a spare set of 625cc's I can try? :D
  22. Yeah, I think that's next - as long as the injectors are good - I don't want to have to redo it.. Yes, except for idle/off idle the AFR's are good - cruising part throttle I get 14-15's. Just not sure why it's loading up @ idle. I need to get my son to shoot video. I did that one-handed. You don't want to see the one where I stomped on it - nearly went off the road from the torque steer with only one hand on the wheel. If it looks good, I'll raise the boost past 20psi - still got a ways to go on that end I don't have the AEM datalogging. I need to buy the connector mentioned in the instructions & I don't usually touch PC's - but that needs to change anyway, since I have TT coming real soon!
  23. No. That's what I believed I was ordering - but that's not what arrived. I've had them on the shelf since May, so not much I can do about it now. I hate the additional connection, it's just asking for trouble... That's where I expected them to go, and where I put them.
  24. hmmm.... I'll have to check the resistance on each, then. I need to pull the rail, since it does seem that moving the injectors/connectors affects the idle/AFR's, which of course it shouldn't. I thought I had them mounted the only way possible, but I have to check, since this seems to be the issue, unless it is just coincidence. Keep me in mnid for your fuel map, I'm still getting TT I've bookmarked your showroom thread, have to take a read later :)
