Yeah, I've been on some of the magazine shoots for some of the rooms my mom has done (she's an interior designer) and they use "light diffusers" outside the windows which also reflects light to where they need it. I don't have any of that, go figure. But yeah, eveyone has their own taste. My mother kept saying the living room looks so busy in the pics but not in person, my response was if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and acts like a duck, it's probably a duck. Interior design is do subjective, and everyone has their own interpretation of what is pleasing to the eye and what isn't. She has her office in the basement of the house and uses the main floor as a bit of a showroom for a lot of the products she carries sans the antiques. The rooms change almost yearly though.
