I had given some serious thought about re-using just the section of the stock intake where the sensors are Just use straight silicone hoses to join that section in-line with the aluminum piping. That's probably the easiest way to do it, but I'm stubborn and want to find a way to accomplish it without cutting up a stock intake pipe This is the "do88.se" method Neu is referring to:

Thanks H, I was more than a bit inspired by all your drawings when I was doing that sketch Pras, I did have to cut the plastic rails out for my Pioneer to fit in the stock opening. You can see the rails were removed in the first photo in the how-to I wrote. For the bezel, I bought a piece of 1/16" black ABS plastic from Amazon and cut the internal opening out by hand with a ruler and Exacto knife first, then trimmed it to fit the dash a bit at a time. If I had been at school when I did the install, I would have laser-cut the bezel for a slightly better fit. The fit right now is pretty good, but there is always room for improvement. My old Pioneer unit came with a bezel that had a pre-cut opening for the unit, and I had to trim it to fit the dash opening.

Made a couple GIFs Finally had some time to work on my FMIC piping. IC in/out is 2.5", I went with 2.25" to make sure I could fit everything. Still waiting on a couple straight pipes and hoses to come in, so you'll notice those are missing...... First step was to do the for easier access to the ETM and more space for piping Here's a quick drawing of my planned routing Some pictures of the hot side in progress....up and across the engine bay And straight down by the fan shroud... and around to the IC Blue painters tape is temporary until I get those seams welded up And now the cold side: Still need to cut a few pieces (hence the paper...) and drill the holes for the factory boost pressure and temperature sensors--if anyone has any input on the best way to do that, I'm all ears. 2.25"-->3" 90* elbow into the TB. The elbow just clears the dipstick and starter. I might trim it a bit so it clears the dipstick a bit more, we'll see.

I know he has had issues with the IPD HD packs cracking around the top of the coil, so along with switching to Bosch coilpacks, I'd assume it is to increase ventilation around the coilpacks in hopes of preventing further failure. EDIT: H, what do you use to weld/join the piping sections together?

Saw a few today in my travels (9 hours on the highway....) Black 850 turbo with 16" XC70 wheels at the Shell on Rt123 in Attleboro Mass. You then passed me on 95N a few minutes later. White S60 with a Euro front plate on 93 in VT, I pulled out in front of you. Silver 98-00 V70 R on 89 in VT, I wasn't able to get your attention as you passed me. Red 850 with a blacked out grille and tint going the other way on 89. And a couple stock S60 Rs throughout the day, but details elude me right now.
