  1. While on the subject of selling things, my 17x7 Voxx MG3 wheels are still for sale. I'd like to get 400 for them (retail new for 520+tax). Only been driven on for a couple months. Still in like new condition. http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/wheels/voxx/product/submitProductSize.do?pc=23588&utm_source=FroogleCSE&utm_medium=Shopping&utm_campaign=FroogleCSE I'd have them on my car if I weren't going for the black & gold theme. Perfect Christmas gift!
  2. In the spirit of thanksgiving, I wanted to share this story I just read on ESPN about a West Seattle janitor. It's quite amazing http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/eticket/story?page=112411/TyroneCurry
  3. Happy Thanksgiving! Today I am thankful for volvos, football, and pie, lots and lots of pie.
  4. This is getting old. You really want to keep at it, shoot me an email Spence. I'm not going to waste more time here bantering back and worth with someone who just wants to pick a fight.
  5. Fair enough. No I don't take it well. Never have and likely never will. I'll back up anything you put in front of me and if I did not back up what you wanted me to here, I suppose that is my fault. Like you say, this is going nowhere. So if you want to talk about sports with me I will give you my opinions and back them up. And I will challenge your opinions if I believe they are wrong. But I will not criticize and attack you as you have done me. Now back to the f'in cars.
  6. Because if I listed a whole hell of a lot of stats I would've heard "Those are just numbers, they mean nothing" from everyone like I usually do. And the fact that you're hating on me for no reason on a f'in Volvo thread is bush league in itself. Isn't this supposed to be about cars? I just mentioned some sports stuff and then when I get attacked that everything I'm saying is totally wrong, I have to defend myself. You want to argue this stuff, send me an email. But this thread is not meant for arguing over this petty crap.
  7. No respect. And actually it does take some cockiness and arrogance to make it to the top. That's the way the world works. If you don't have the belief that you are better than those around you (in going for the same career) then you won't make it. Stats are exactly that, numbers. It's easy to list off numbers. True knowledge of sports comes from understanding those numbers. "We can't just list off stats because that means nothing. It's about interpreting those stats and making meaning of them." -Rick Rizzs. That's a direct quote from the job shadow I did of him last summer. Don't tell me Sportscenter anchors didn't get to be where they are without being confident and likely a little arrogant at some point early in their career.
  8. That's pretty cool. Hadn't heard of that before. I'm cocky and arrogant with sports knowledge but with everything else in life, I know nothing haha. Regarding the marriage thing, that's so dumb. I go to SPU (a very Christian university) and hear this kind of religious viewpoint on marriage all the time. Sickens me.
  9. Agreed, there are tons of variables. I'd like to see the math that he did and this "Approximate Value System". I still believe, more cores of SB winning teams are built around young developed talent. You don't see many teams like the 49ers win with a player like Alex Smith who suddenly becomes good without any sort of steady increase. Heck I'm not even sure Tony Romo will ever have what it takes. And he's a much better QB overall. Teams like Atlanta (Ryan), Detroit (Stafford), and NY (Sanchez) are doing it right. I'd be surprised if they all don't win SBs in the next 5 or so years. Especially the Jets. Shonn Green needs to pick it up though, which will then open up the passing game further for Mark, who always have numerous weapons.
  10. I'm not saying the Hawks will win a SB with Carroll, that's likely not happening. But he can probably get us a couple or few more division titles. Not like the Rams have any better organizational setup. I know what you mean the effect of the overall organization, it's a theory of winning built upon the foundations of good coaching. Mike McCarthy is a great coach who learned under others for years. Carroll on the other hand was head in NY and NE and then USC, he didn't directly learn under a better coach in the NFL, which if you look is where much success comes from. I mean that's why Holmgren was so good, learning under Bill Walsh. Heck, that's why many of the teams who have been great over the last 10-15 years have been good- because their coaches learned under another. So yea, I don't expect much. What I'm saying is there's no better organization in the division. The Rams just don't have it I believe. Jackson's going to lose it soon. And their secondary is just so terrible. On a side note, growing up my family had one tv. So on Saturday mornings when I wanted to watch cartoons, my dad made me watch college football. I may not have been following it since the 70s, but I've been watching sports since I could talk. Heck, I couldn't name you 5 cartoons I watched as a kid. Yet I can tell you all about how Ron "The Dayne Train" won the Heisman at ...Wisconsin (I believe?...or Nebraska) then went to the NFL and sucked basically. One decent year in NY but then crumbled.
  11. Whatever you have to think to help you sleep at night bro.
  12. Patriots in 01 rallied around the young, energetic Tom Brady Bucs in 02 had that young, feisty defense that was best in the NFL (Jermaine Phillips, Ronde Barber) Patriots again in 03 and 04 due to bringing on a bunch of young defensive players (Ty Warren, Asante Samuel, Vince Wilfork) and receivers (Bethel Johnson, Benjamin Watson) Steelers in 05 led by a young Big Ben and a defense that was still relatively young (Troy, Ike Taylor) -And don't even say The Bus was a big part of that team cause he was basically the short yardage back. YOUNG Willie Parker was clearly their #1 rusher Colts in 06 can be considered the one exception because they simply won because the Bears stunk with Grossman and Manning was due Giants in 07 due to their crazy young aggressive defensive line (Mathias Kiwanuka, Jay Alford, Barry Cofield, Justin Tuck) and young backs Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs, not to mention Eli was still quite young at that point Steelers in 08 had a revamped young defense with linebackers Lamar Woodley and Laurence Timmons plus rookie back Rashard Mendenhall who began to take the reins from Willie Parker as the team's #1 back Saints in 09 is the second exception of the last 10 years because simply they were a tremendous team built around the momentum from a city who wouldn't take anything less than a championship Finally the Packers last year are the best example of a team succeeding due to developed young. Aaron Rodgers was young in his career (having sat behind Brett for so long), James Starks who came up big in place of Ryan Grant, Jordy Nelson who made himself into the best #3 receiver in the league and one of A-Rod's favorite targets, plus rookie Brian Bulaga made a huge difference on the offensive line. Onto the defense we then see BJ Raji, Clay Matthew's, Tramon Williams, Nick Collins, and AJ Hawk. The Packers were built around young last season, primarily why they are in place to become a dynasty if they can win this season and win going forward. Listen, you guys don't know me that well, so let me quote all my friends..... "Don't argue sports with Jackson, he'll destroy you." I'd follow their advice.
  13. Laugh as much as you want bro. Youth wins championships.
  14. Juuuuust to let you know, I have my own sports radio talk show. You should listen in sometime. Saturdays from 2-4 on kspu.org. Then you'll see I actually know what I'm talking about.
  15. You must be joking? Brady Quinn? You forget they also still have Orton, they just chose to go with Tebow. Quinn got his shot a couple years ago and showed he has nothing but the skills to be a 3rd string QB. Tebow will get killed this week against the New York secondary. If he tries to throw it, he will be picked. And that will allow the Jets linebackers to key on that option attack. David Harris should have a field day. I will because it's true. Quad-option sounds pretty but once defenses figure it out, it will suck. Just like the Wildcat. It was great when it first came out and defenses were in shock and awe but now defenses know how to stop it so very few teams run it anymore. Same will go with Denver.
  16. Gore is getting older and will begin to fade. Already seeing it these past couple years with injuries. Secondary is old as well. Youth is the future of this division which lies in the hands of the Rams and Hawks. I'd smile if Carroll just punches Jim in the face when they meet at midfield in Seattle after the game. Screw a fine, just lay him out.
  17. Exactly. Great player to refer to. I think when the Seahawks replace Tavaris with Landry Jones or Matt Barkley (and ease him into the system through a couple years), Seattle will rule the division. Rams should own it in 2012 and 2013 though. Only reason the Rams have been this bad this year was because of their nasty schedule.
  18. Whew good price, I'll get back to ya on that.
  19. This season is a fluke...Smith can't be this solid for multiple years.
  20. Yea I have actually seen those jerseys-crazy!!! Nothing like the "Authentic jerseys" that are for sale hah! Prices on the shoes?
  21. What in particular? I bleed blue and green.
  22. One of the sickest jukes I've ever seen. Not sure if it was good we won though since it hurts our draft placement a ton. Still, awesome to see. Go Hawks!
  23. His dad is like a billionare and his uncle is like a trillionare. That's right, it's true.
  24. Yo keep me posted on if we can work something out with those...
  25. Dang I want an amazing woman like that. KEEP HER! Also very sorry about losing the job.
