Well yes, as I did say, they aren't that good. With a new owner, and regenerated income from actually being in a city that supports them, they will have funds to get better players. I don't know how you can say Seattle isn't a hockey city. There's a ton of 'Tips and 'Birds fans that would all swarm to the new stadium to see hockey games. This is most definitely a hockey town. And after the excitement of the return dies down they will sell seats because they will have improved and the city will know it has to keep supporting this team- or else.
I love hearing this kind of stuff. 5th grade season tickets haha that's a great story. Good to hear about the excitement and yes, you're right, we'll inherit a long rebuilding process. But it's 100% worth it. It is sad people aren't more interested but who knows, some time down the road when the Sonics are great again ('96) people will flock to them.
Well it will be. And if you don't like talking about sports, let Spence and I take over this thread so we can have fun talking about who else should pay for the new Sonics in 2012! Hey, also I think Detleff Schremp (or however the hell you spell his name) should be a reserve hahahaha!
It won't ever get to that level again. Fans know if it gets bad, we could be at risk to lose them again.
