  1. I was thinking the same thing, but I was also curious how you could possibly install an ECU wrong too. Still trying to wrap my mind around those different variables; trying to plug it in upside down? Putting it in the muffler rather than plugging it into the ECU harness??
  2. Just out of curiosity, since I've been told my ECU is potentially bad (and in lieu of this whole thread), is there anyone other than ARD that can do manual tunes on ME7? Just wondering what to do in the event that my ECU does go to crap.
  3. What's the Forge CBV issue? Just curious because that's a move I plan on making in the near future w/ hopes of taking my car from sounding like a dishwasher whenever I decelerate, to more of a turbocharger releasing pressure. Plus, from the little bit I've read, they're better than the stock. (Just FYI, the sound isn't an ARD issue, its because I have a Eurosport tuning CAI rather than the stock airbox)
  4. This all went south for me because he couldn't just own up to it being a bad tune right in the beginning; would've save both of us a lot of time. Now I'm still curious what he meant by telling me my ECM could still be bad, makes me nervous to drive this thing. Still waiting to hear back on that, but I guess it hasn't been 48 hours since I asked him what he meant yet. I still also have a weird hesitation between about 1500 and 3500 Rs. Its not terrible, but it wasn't there before I did any of this. I actually said something about it when I first started asking why my car wouldn't rev beyond 4k Rs, but after I got the re-tune it got a lot better (but its still there, and I didn't have it before the tune).
  5. Just for the record, I want to reiterate that I'm not here to slander anyone. I kind of got thrown into this because I had to get the tune done to my ECM do to a transmission failure. I planned on doing this eventually anyhow, but I like to research the crap out of everything before I pull the trigger and I didn't have a chance to do that this time. All that said, my 2 issues w/ ARD are the way I was treated after I had my issues, and I just don't think I feel a big performance difference. Bear in mind too that my car also isn't the same car it was because I went from an auto to a manual, so it isn't apples to apples. But I really don't like being treated like someone's doing me a favor by taking my money, then all the games I had to play just to get some action taken, that's what left the bad taste in my mouth. Lucky was actually great once I finally got a chance to talk to him, and aside from the hoops I had to go through just to get to the point where it was considered that maybe it was the tune and not do to me being a retard. Thank God, my car seems to be going again and I haven't had issues again (although its only been a day and a half). I'm still a little nervous because the last thing I was told by ARD is that my ECM could still be bad and I drive a LOT. I'm not going to jump in my car and drive out of state right away and that really sucks, its kind of the whole reason I wanted this car. I can haul stuff, it gets respectable mileage, and its fun to drive (when it isn't broke). This leaves me w/ depending on a 1/2 ton 4x4 Chevy truck that gets 14-15 mpg for these long trips. IMO, I think a lot of what's going on are related to growth as well; that can get frustrating from a supplier stand point. While I realize growth can be frustrating, as a supplier people should remember that the customers are the livelihood of the business, rather than getting annoyed when someone expects some results. So Lucky, I would say thanks for the legwork on getting my issues resolved (ish). But, I still have no idea what it means when you tell me my ECM might still be bad. Does this mean its a ticking time bomb?? That I shouldn't drive it? Will I be somewhere and have the thing just puke on me?? I have no idea and that kind of kills the joy of doing any of this.
  6. Ditto. I just started a thread in the performance section regarding this. I actually already have an awesome tuner here locally but he's never done Volvos before. Maybe you could chime in, sounds like you know more than me (which isn't saying much on my end, I know nothing about tuning). I've been talking to him through my ordeal, and he said he would never do an off the shelf tune and put his name on it, he always needs the car there because they're all a little different.
  7. Taken from here... http://www.eurosporttuning.com/volvo/engine/ecu-upgrade.html (which would include a 99 V70R, which is what I have) That's WHP, which would be all of a 70 hp gain at the crank, probably more. Making mine all of 317hp (at the crank) after the Blue Tune.
  8. I'm curious who gave me the -1. Why? Is it because I spoke the truth? I'm not out to slander anyone, just being honest. $770 is a lot of money and its not like I picked up a tornado air filter expecting 50hp gains and 20% better mileage. I needed this tune to make my manual swap work. I got my ECM out to ARD right when I started this project back in Oct and just got my car going for the first time last night, and all because of the tune. And that's after I argued back and forth w/ his wife that I'm really not a complete idiot, and I'm sure my wiring is good. But, just to be sure, I double and triple checked my wiring to be certain (including pulling everything back apart that was already put together). When I first plugged the ECM in and it didn't work, the next day I gave a call and I was told Lucky would be in touch, 4-5 hours go by and no call. So I try to call back and it just rings and rings. I keep trying to call and finally Lucky's wife answered and started arguing w/ me about how she's sure it wasn't anything w/ the tune. Then she tells me when I started this whole process I did get the email that it would be 24-48 hours before I heard back. After she explained that to me she enlightened me to the fact that I'm not their only customer. That's all fine if you're someone w/ a question about whether or not this or that will work, but that doesn't work if you've paid ($770) for your part and something's wrong w/ it, anyone in their right mind will want some action taken right away. I'm still concerned about the tune to be honest. As stated before, once everyone finally realized it was the tune I was told it was probably related to how I connected the battery, or my ECM is bad, or there was a slim chance something possibly went wrong on their end. Whatever... After ARD reflashed it, he tested it in a car there and it worked; I got it installed in my car and my car revs beyond 4k finally. But again, I'm being honest about the fact that I'm not feeling a 70hp increase. None of this is exaggerated and like I said, my purpose isn't to slander anyone. I paid a lot of money for a tune and I expect it to work properly; and when it doesn't (just like anyone else would) I expect some reasonable customer service, not an argument about why things are the way they are.
  9. I won't say what the guy that got shipped my ECM in Idaho said, I'll wait and see if he chimes in. My experience w/ ARD was less than pleasant. On one occasion, after a day or so of going back and forth because I was fairly sure they were the reason my car wasn't right (and all that after giving them $770), his wife told me "You aren't our only customer". This is $770 I've given them, I've had better customer service over a $10 purchase. First I was told he could do my manual tune for $250, then that changed to "He won't do the manual tune unless I also purchase the Blue Tune". So faced w/ that or stick w/ an auto trans, I bit it and got the full monte.
  10. My wife doesn't hardly drink at all either; and I wouldn't say I wish it was different. I've known some chicks that were drunks, nothing pretty about it. Me on the other hand... I like me some beer and good tequila.
  11. Danny MacAskill isn't human, pretty sure he was brought here by aliens.
  12. Wait a minute... You don't mean to say that some of the people in the world are nuts; do you??
  13. I see that; but that's probably not how it'll play out. Who do you think's going to pay those higher wages? The company owner? Maybe a little bit, but it will probably reflect more on the cost of goods. Labor anywhere hasn't kept up w/ inflation, everyone makes less money unless you're a CEO or likewise, and that's the majority of the reason for why. Someone out there is getting the money, but it's not the employees.
  14. After the re-read, I get it (meet vs meat). No pun, I'm just retarded
  15. That's really cool that she's going to give you $7,500,000.00. We must both be lucky, yesterday I won a trip to Hawaii, then some poor girl in an Arab nation needed a way to get her money in the states, so she chose me. All I had to do was give my SS and account info.
  16. No pun; not sure what it was about the one I worked at, but super busy in the middle of the shopping mecca of Grand Rapids. It wasn't always hot chicks everywhere, but I definitely got some numbers.
  17. I worked at a dine in Pizza Hut in my teens, loved that job. Super busy, but waiting tables was a great way to meat girls. Then the unlimited beers on tap after hours...
  18. I'm terrible for burning wood that's green (and pine for that matter). Love me a warm fire though. I have a woodstove in my basement; nice to get it so warm I have to open a door down there to let the 20 degrees in and cool it down. Nothing beats radiant heat from a fire, instant lazy.
  19. You need to quit burning pine in your fireplace
  20. Its not... back when... but if we... its not so much about... I get, and then they... what happened was... ... There should be a Pelosi emoticon instead of the retard face. And no, I don't think burger flippers need to be paid $15/hour. I think any of them that went on strike should get fired. You want more pay, get a better job.
  21. He joined world industries as an investor, Rocco was the founder. Watch The Man Who Souled The World; great documentary (that might make you hate skateboarding, but still awesome). Not discrediting Mullen, he's an awesome skater (understatement), and definitely a pioneer in street skating. But Natas had the wallride, and a few others. He kinda took Mullen's tricks to the next level. Not to mention getting banned from CA
