  1. For street skating Pioneers, you can't leave out Natus. This is 87
  2. Similarities... I'd take the Skyline over 10 Javelins though
  3. That's ^^^ the Scion FR-S; right? I have to admit, I like the looks.
  4. A couple of my favorite skate videos are Beers Bowls & Barneys, and Cheese & Crackers. The bowl in the beginning of this trailer is the punisher at Skatopia, I skated it a few times. The video doesn't do it justice, the deep end's like 13' deep w/ 2' of vert and no flat bottom. Cheese & Cracker is just amazing mini ramp skating. Daewon is the man. This is part one, part 2 is on youtube too.
  5. Bones Brigade documentary was on Netflix for a while, maybe still is?? Also Christian Hosoi, Rising Son was on there too. Another good one is The Man Who Souled The World, movie about Steve Rocco and World Industries. A sad one is Stoked, The Rise and Fall Of Gator. All worth watching.
  6. Yeah, this probably isn't good for me, I already spend enough time here. Now I need to start a thread titled, "Who'd you vote for and what religion are you?"
  7. I planned on the membership anyhow. Its a great forum and been a huge help w/ getting my crappy car back together.
  8. That's a HUGE can of worms there. We'll end up getting this moved to P&R
  9. Same for these, if they're taking up too much space let me know . Is that a rat bones in the top pic, behind the Rob Roskopp?
  10. I tried to keep the wheels turning. I don't have any tattoos, but click that link; he's an awesome artist.
  11. A good friend of mine is a very good tattoo artist, http://www.lonniepease.com/home.html My wife has a tattoo of a vine on her ankle from college and I'm down w/ that, its sexy. But I wouldn't want her to get a tramp stamp. We considered getting tats together but the only thing I could think of would be the Rat Fink rat, riding a skateboard w/ a blown 350 and the typical Fink shifter; she wasn't down. Funny tattoo quotes... "Tattoos are for pirates and hookers" "There goes any opportunity for gainful employment"
  12. ... Let me know if you're sick of tripping over those
  13. I tore my PCL a year ago skating a bowl; took a bad knee bail in a tight corner, straight into the wall w/ my knee. It was borderline needing surgery, but I guess w/ a PCL they're a lot worse to fix as far as long term issues go, so they need to be torn fairly bad before they do surgery. You should see what I can do w/ my knee now. Sitting in a chair, I can push/pull my lower leg in and out of the knee socket, pretty creepy. Hurt like hell for a while but its a lot better now. I still feel it when I skate or run up and down stairs though. You getting surgery for yours? I agree. I used to work w/ this guy that I'm pretty sure would sleep w/ a dictionary. Dumber than a box of rocks, but he sure had a poetic vernacular. But I also agree that swearing all the time implies lesser intelligence. When dealing w/ CSR, the last thing you want to do is cuss and swear, you can get a lot further w/ smarts than you can w/ vulgarity.
  14. You make decks?? I've made a couple longboards out of Baltic Birch, but never anything w/ concave. Also made a zip zinger style deck out of an old Hosoi board I had. Any pics??
  15. And probably kept any of the old decks. A friend of mine sold his Z Flex deck on ebay for like $900. I broke my foot when I was a teen, and at the time I had a Lance Mountain Crest deck that was still like new. I traded it for some crappy Mongoose BMX bike which was a deal for me back then, but today that deck would be worth about $800. If you're bored some night, this is a good documentary.
  16. My first car (don't be a hater, only had it for a year) My 2nd car, except a lot rustier and had yellow doors (same color though). But we did build an Olds 403, and it ran low 13 sec 1/4 mile.
  17. We can actually do the concrete, that mainly takes time and a mold and we actually plan on eventually doing that. But so we can skate for now, does anyone have a better idea for getting the steel coping to fit those bowled in corners??
  18. I actually LOVE wagons for lord only knows what reason. I tried to talk him into a Datsun 510 wagon but he wasn't having it. He's only 14 though so I still have time to convince.
  19. I hear you. I wouldn't go all out, he'd start w/ a bone stock E30. It would be on him to express interest in add ons and upgrades before I lift a finger. Mike, I sent you a PM
  20. Yes it is. Fortunately I had a bunch of wood we harvested from the local skate park that went out of business, but we still ended up getting another full bunk of 3/8 ply for the sheeting, as well as a bunk of 2x4s and we're almost ready for more. I did have a bunch of coping as well, and that's another big cost savings. Once its done, we'll go over the whole thing again w/ 1/4" masonite. Anyone here have experience w/ making steel coping fit bowled in corners?? My only thought is to make a cardboard template and bring it and the coping to an exhaust shop and hope they can bend it (coping is thicker steel than exhaust). Anyone have a better idea? The future dream is to make concrete coping, but for now we just want to skate.
  21. We have a skate spot again!!! 2 years ago our local skatepark went out of business, and while I did get a fantastic spine ramp in my backyard out of it, it left us hanging for a winter spot. FINALLY, problem solved!! Much building still needs done, but we have a skate spot that's in a heated building again This will all eventually get bowled in. Super fun to ride. Our own private piece of skate heaven!!
  22. Let's have it Mike. Hopefully, whatever happened, your kid was OK. I'm all about hearing things like this so I can let my son know the reality of it. My son's actually very responsible. I wouldn't have given me a fast car when I was a teen, even though I had a few of them as a teen. Its amazing I'm still alive. But I think my son will be responsible, he's by far and away more responsible than I was. Besides, the whole reason I'd start w/ a turd E30 is because if I somehow manage to find a stock manual straight 6, they aren't that fast. I wouldn't be opposed to getting him a 4 cyl either. You can kill yourself in a Geo Metro if you dumb enough.
  23. My son's 14 right now and I think I'd like his first car to be an E30. I'd like to find him a cheap turd somewhere w/ some potential and make a M3 out of it eventually.
  24. This is sad. From what I've read, he was a decent guy as well as a good actor, I think he did a lot for charity. I feel sorry for his daughter and the family members of the driver. My son and I always watch new Fast n Furious movies when they come out. Curious how they'll finish the one they working on.
