  1. Well said on all of that. Hadn't considered the African American thing either; I'm a white American mutt, not a Polish/English/Indian/American.
  2. Just curious what others thoughts on the rebel flag are. I've heard good points from both sides, and I personally never really considered it treasonous or aimed towards hatred, but I'm also a white guy from MI and I'm not always the most sensitive person in the world (I think PC is retarded and gay). To me it was always the flag on the roof of the General Lee in the Dukes Of Hazzard, but that's what I grew up with and never really considered it's roots. Any African Americans here that live in the south? I'd love your feedback. And be completely honest... did the confederate flag bother you prior to the media's recent stirring of the shit-pot?
  3. My brother in law broke his hand playing golf (because I rolled the golf cart over). I know a girl that annihilated her ankle when she tripped over a dog playing frisbee. I don't make any money drinking beer or eating food I like, but I still do that too.
  4. Yeah, he was probably my favorite skater. A pioneer who didn't have anything to prove, he just loved to skate.
  5. Been an interesting couple weeks. 2 weeks ago Saturday we did a skate trip to send my buddy that's moving to Portland OR off. While we were at Skatopia, another friend that went with us broke and dislocated his ankle, so he spent that Saturday at the ER in Huntington WV. Was a frigging gnarly break too. Last Saturday we had another skate session, and another friend fell and broke his hip (was actually his femur right at his hip). Not a good couple weeks. Ironically, the friend that's moving broke his ankle a year ago. Based on all that, I'm not sure if I buy into this...
  6. What you're saying might make sense if I sent them the ECU and said "tune this for awesome mileage", but that wasn't the case at all. The fact that I get any kind of respectable mileage is a HUGE bonus to me. Also bear in mind there were 3- 200 lb guys in the car, plus our bags and skate stuff. Wasn't trying to make any kind of statement or sell anything, basically just saying close to 30 mpg is definitely doable. Was a crazy weekend, my buddy broke (and dislocated) his ankle at Skatopia, which is in BFE on the Ohio/West Virginia border. He spent about 7 hours at the ER in Huntington WV Saturday, he's having surgery here tomorrow
  7. Funny you should bring this up right now. ARD re-tuned my ECU, and I immediately noticed better mileage. My average mileage went from around 22 to 24. But I just drove it to West Virginia and back last weekend, and straight highway I got 29.5 on my first tank, 28 on my second, and 26.9 on my third. This was not being nice to it (not beating it either, just driving), I was driving between 85 and 65 mph with me and 2 other guys and all our crap in the car. That's crazy, better than my Acura TSX with a 4 cyl manual got on the highway. That's legit, no BS mileage too based on miles driven/gallons used.
  8. Been a week now with my re-tuned ECU and all seems well. No more hesitation, most importantly no more bucking, and no other issues that I've noticed. My boost doesn't come on as strong or as fast as it used to, but that was the original issue that was causing the bucking so that's understandable. Also gets better mileage; was getting avg 22.5... first tank with new tune was 24.9. I need to reset my wastegate, might do that this weekend and hopefully that'll put some of the insane pull it used to have back (not that it's slow now by any stretch). With the first tune I had to have it set at around 1.8psi IIRC and it should be around 4psi, if I set it any higher I was getting overboost codes. Now that he pulled the boost back in the tune I'm hoping I can bump that. All in all, I'm super thrilled, it drives great now and my manual swap is FINALLY 100% (year and a half later). I'd update my original manual swap thread but only the first page still shows up.

  10. So regarding that... obviously no cuz it has 3 Mikuni carbs on it. But, ARD seems to have FINALLY gotten my tune right (no more bucking). They had the boost set too aggressive, which was the hesitation on acceleration and my 4th gear bucking. A year n a half later... I can pass people without worrying about breaking my upper motor mount again. Next I think I'll reset my wastegate and see how that does. Because the boost was so aggressive, I had it set at like 1.8 psi, and it's supposed to be around 4. Maybe now I can pull that back up too without getting overboost codes.
  11. Maybe you were kidding, but it's so true. I have 2, a 75 and a 78. This should be the summer of the swap; I need to pull the drivetrain from the 78 and shove it in the 75. My 78 is getting so bad it's probably dangerous to drive, the 75 is a solid Texas body but doesn't run.
  12. Mad Max, Fury Road was frigging awesome. A near perfect blend of all the good from Road Warrior and Beyond Thunder Dome. Datsun from the movie. Lot's of other cooler looking cars too but...
  13. Those are sharp, first I've heard of them

  15. Axpona last weekend in Chicago was AMAZING!! Nothing like drooling over $500k+ sound systems for 3 days. The highlight of the show was definitely the Seaton Sound room. http://www.seatonsound.net/ Seaton Sound is located in Morton Grove, IL and had the LOUDEST system I've ever heard in my life; it was Motorhead loud with crystal clear clarity. I was out in the lobby relaxing when the concrete started shaking so I went into their room. I'm guessing they were playing a Warren Miller snowboarding video. 16 subwoofers, 24,000 watts, 3 6ft tall fronts, and all the surround speakers to complete the system. I honestly had to fight back emotions, it brought a tear to my eye. The best part is, at a show filled with stupid expensive, unobtanium sound systems, the entire system cost was $32k. Pricey... yes, but not compared to most of the others there. The whole show was incredible. If you're into audio and you're anywhere near Chicago next year, I highly recommend it. http://www.axpona.com/
  16. Fossil actually makes some great watches for not so much money. I also like some of the Nautica watches.
  17. Just wanted to see how the quoted posts show up in the new layout.
  18. Who'd have thought those would come from this... Reminds me of these...
  19. Always wanted to drive one of these but never have. Or one of these, always loved these.
  20. Good grief man, that's a lot of watches. But, it's an investment if you bought them right. My meagar collection of watches (images taken from google). Tissot PRC200 Nautica Chrono Dive Tommy Bahama My dream watch (doubt I'll ever own this, I'm too cheap) A little closer to reality for a someday soon purchase
  21. Did a hard reset on mine 2 days ago and that seems to have fixed it (which is a pain cuz it basically takes it back to zero, like the day you bought it, so you have to reset everything). Another thing I did was put MobilGo app on it, which is supposedly some sort of performance enhancing drug for Android phones. Not even sure exactly what the app does, it just alerts me when my "Memory usage is over 80%", so I boost it and it does some weird stuff. Short version is, when I got the phone I'd easily get a day and a half of heavy use out of a battery charge. After their update, I struggled to get 10 hours. Reset and put that app on, I'm back to at least a full day of heavy use before I need to charge it. Not sure if that MobileGo app does anything or not, I might uninstall it and see if my phone is the same. It's also not at all as buggy as it was.
