  1. Creationists by definition don't really know what they're talking about Politics are all about "seeming" a lot of things. Because the average schmuck is oblivious to facts (so is the media for the most part, facts aren't profitable out of sheer boringness)
  2. I like the fact that it was still considered necessary to obscure part of the licence plate
  3. You'd do the Bush administration proud nice going, although it's obviously not entirely your fault : source : http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7562611.stm I don't know if I should consider your "military" comments about the US in Russia as uninformed or ignorant, but it's going to be one of those things rather than accurate i'm afraid.
  4. Correct Very, very far from correct. Don't bring up shale. At this point in time it's irrelevant and nobody knows if there's any real future for extracting the kerogen. On a side note, the idea of offshore drilling being of any significant good to the US if it were allowed is so rediculous it's scary to see how many people believe in it. I guess not having a clue about the facts (but worse : not bothering to get a clue either) does that to people. This isn't related to the above chart but rather the time table and volumes associated with the drilling. Not to mension there are plenty of places in the US where oil companies can drill any time they like but so far aren't.
  5. More from a technical/amount and type of cars point of view
  6. You're a very sick man J, but you already know that :D
  7. LPG tanks are indeed bulletpoof, I have one in the C70 But LPG ain't CNG. There's no power loss, in fact you gain a few HP on a turbo car on LPG (especially with LPI where it's injected as a liquid, it cools the intake air) because of the huge octane rating. You just use a larger volume of LPG than you would use petrol.
  8. Man that'd give me such a headache. In fact, it just did.
  9. I saw a little debate on youtube with RP and Rudolph Giuliani, it was absolutely rediculous. Ron Paul made some excellent points (quite amazing for a politician) only for them to be laughed away by Giuliani as rubbish with the crowd on his side. The fact that RP was actually right, and if Giuliani of all people had read the 9/11 report he'd have known, -yet nobody cared- showed how silly American politics are. It doesnt matter what politicians say because the majority doesnt have a clue about facts. They go by who looks more believable or whatever regardless of the crap coming out of their mouth. Ron Paul does have views that are way "out there" on some topics, but in general he seems to have an unheard of amount of common sense and insight in world politics. So he doesnt stand a chance.
  10. Melting pistons is caused by the extreme heat caused by detonation, but either way severe detonation does bend rods. Just imagine the mixture igniting with the piston still traveling upwards, it aint pretty. You need a shitton of torque to bend a whiteblock rod without detonation. But detonation does tend to occur at peak torque, hence the confusion.
  11. So let me get this straight, the US miltary is unable to control stuff passing over a border or keep any kind of peace in Iraq (with Afghanistan still an unstable shithole) but successfully invading a reasonably well armed country would be peanuts. Iraq was a pushover because they had no serious firepower left and because the military couldnt give a toss. Iran would by no means be as easy, or as short, and it has the capability to wreak havoc on "countries" within some distance. All this with Iraq a huge mess getting worse by the day where the US military is already hugely underpowered. Sure, Iran could be invaded but the result would be even less desirable than how the last 2 monkeyups turned out. At this point I am sure nothing like this is being seriously contemplated. Heck i'd bet all my money there wont be an invasion of Iran in the next years to come. The time has come to just let the middle east meddle in its own stupidity, you cant introduce real democracy in those countries stuck in the dark ages. If you want less terrorists then stop giving people reasons (as dumb as they may be) to become one. All the collateral damage and negative PR these wars create produces a heck of a lot more suicidal idiots than you can ever get rid of with guided bombs.
  12. Well even if it was technically possible, I'm not sure how Bush will manage to start another war with the dems in control. Unless he jumps on a plane himself and starts a private one.
  13. No. They wont, they cant, and they cant be that stupid.
  14. Probably, how was the cooling? A good fan makes a huge difference for the results.
  15. Who told him thàt was a good idea? Could have seen that coming a mile away
  16. Are you saying launching with an automatic is particularly difficult then?
  17. Fixed I'm not going to argue any longer about this. You dont have the experience with these cars that others do. A little arrogant to claim a bunch of stuff you cant back up or show us then dont you think?
  18. again Sure dude. The only FWD volvos that come close to 1.8 60ft are the 500+ HP Swedes on drag radials and gutted interior. These cars simply do not launch well. It appears to me your definition of WHP is based on a very optimistic dynojet buddy. And yes he is not going to get nowhere near a 35-50 whp boost from an extra 5 psi jesus. His turbo is still pretty efficient at 15 psi, it most definitely will not be at 20. Even if it was, 50 wheel would be really optimistic. You're really not showcasing too much knowledge here. He's using a Tec³ EMS in his datsun.
  19. I think I remember what dyno that was on
  20. He makes it sound like extra manifold pressure is something innocent. It isnt. It reduces power, puts more stress on the rods and lowers the "knock-limit". Especially because this is already an issue with our cars stock exhaust manifolds and tiny turbines. Aside from that if a 16T were to hold 20 psi at 6000rpm on a 2.3L engine you'd be so far off the compressor map its not funny. 294 whp on a 16T would be a nice example of a dyno that aims to please.
  21. getting a 19T to 300+ whp depends more on the dyno than on the turbo
  22. Depends how literal you take it
