  2. QUOTE (matt b @ Jun 11 2008, 09:09 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>And Michael: buy a car already, any damn car, just do it! I know I know! Oh god... if I keep this up, I'm gonna be turning into a mini version of Dave! Next thing I know, I'll be making a gazillion threads about what rims to buy .
  3. 1994 850 Turbo for sale cheap and an almost junk 850 T-5R manual in my area that I can try getting for really dirt cheap... are you guys thinking what I'm thinking?
  4. I tried google, but the only suspension components I was able to get out of Volvo and Bilstein were shocks lol.
  5. Pardon my newbness... but does Bilstein make lowering springs for Volvos?.... or do they make lowering springs at all? There's this 850 for sale in my area and it says "Koni Adjustable Shocks and Bilstein Lowering Springs" but I have this tiny feeling that he is BS-ing. Here's the car: Click The paint looks to be in good condition (only judging from pics though) 'cept for the rice rocket wing and exhaust tips but that should be easy stuff to swap out.
  6. Ah yes... I remember gr.12 Mathematics.... luckily I don't have to deal with those anymore .
  7. I think those three all of you mentioned would look good. Hmmmm, time to whip out Photoshop haha. Yeah Matt, the whole cleaning thing about the Arrakis makes me iffy lol. I think the only way to get Interceptors would be to buy them from the dealer or... steal them off an S80.... unless I get really lucky and find a used set somehow heh.
  8. QUOTE (matt b @ Jun 2 2008, 05:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I apologize for my noobness, but I need pics to see what these rims are.No problemo . Arrakis: Canopus: Interceptor: Sentinal: Amalthea: Pleiad: Orbit: Helium:
  9. Do you guys think any of these rims would look good on an 850? Arrakis Canopus Interceptor Sentinal Amalthea Pleiad Orbit Helium I'm looking hard for an 850 (wagon or sedan) right now and would really like to get a different set of Volvo rims for it. Only difference is that these are rims that not many of you have on an 850 (I want to be different ). I'm leaning a bit on Arrakis and Helium though... I've always been a fan of these two. Arrakis doesn't look like it's very fun to clean though!
  10. Good point. I'll keep on telling myself that it'll be worth the wait .
  11. There are no good 5spd 93-95 850s in my area and I'm getting impatient! ...... haven't sold my dub yet so I guess I shouldn't be too angry. I want to learn stick though!!!
  12. QUOTE (matt b @ May 27 2008, 06:21 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>If you were desperate enough to import one from Florida, I could find you 3 in a matter of hours. They're fairly common. Not that desperate yet... until Fall (school starts). If I can't find one by Fall time, I may look into picking up a stickshift Acura 1.6EL or some sort of Honda. I'll just wait. Hopefully more around my area will come up.
  13. QUOTE (matt b @ May 27 2008, 11:04 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Everything's negotiable. $4600 is a mere starting point, offer him $3500, cash in hand if it looks decent. I'll keep that in mind . The thing about Ontario is that insurance rates here are high . The HPT would be considered a sports car and jump much higher in price because of the "turbo" That's really good compared to what I'd have to pay. We got a quote to insure the VW Golf under my name (was insured under my aunt's name for cheaper insurace rate) and they said it would be rougly $2000 per year. Are 5spd 850 NAs hard to find though? How often do they pop up, on average? I really haven't been keeping track lol.
  14. That bad eh? Hahaha Yeahh, I'm only looking at manuals (really want to learn how to drive stick). My grandfather used to have a 93 auto and it had issues augh. Insurance for a 94 or 95 NA should change I don't think... or if it does, not too much more. I'd go for a 94 NA but there none in stick around my area . I looked at a 95 but it was beat to hell (rust everywhere, interior was all mangled, etc). There's another 95 that's a dark green-ish colour with tan interior that I haven't seen yet, but the guy wants $4600 for it.
  15. There's a 5spd 93 850 for sale where I live that's white with a blue interior...... haven't gone to see the car yet, but found some pics of a blue interior here in the Cosmetic and Detailing forum. Whatcha guys think? I'm kinda mixed on it... seems to be rare!? Haven't seen a blue interior in person before. Don't tell me to look at a Turbo instead of an NA. I've already decided and am dead set on it (insurance reasons).
  16. Just checked out a manual 850 GLT today. Car was trash but... ... I can push the clutch all the way down with ease. FCK YEAH!
  17. Meh I don't mind it. I normally don't have to reach for the top shelf or anything anyways... and if I do... just grab a stool, lmao. QUOTE (matt b @ May 22 2008, 08:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>You can handle it little tiger! You should be OK. My mother in law is 5'4" and she can handle both of our manuals without issues. Yay, that makes me happy . My search for a manual N/A has started hah.
  18. Question for all you folks with manual 850s and S70s. Can a person who is about 5'3 push the clutch all the way down with ease? I ask this because I'm a little over 5'3 and last time I tried pushing the clutch of a 740, I couldn't get it all the way down. I really want the next car I get to be a manual and also a Volvo... so a stick S70 or 850 is being thought of, but I'm worried about not being able to push the clutch all the way down like in the 740.
  19. None of my friends or I fist bump each other. We normally hand shake or low five heh. There is that odd time when we do fist bump but that's when we're just screwing around.
  20. Nevermind Smithwicks. I'll just use my friend's myspace account.
