Melvin,
I missed last year for the first time since 04. I was sketchy with family stuff and the weather looked shitty so I bailed. I hope to be there this year
Great Mike, I will see you there! I missed last year as well, too many home improvement projects going on.

Yes, that's the right one.
The showfield tickets are here:

I just got a motel, because I'm getting too old for this camping in the rain nonsense.... I can bring the R, since I won't need the room for my tent and bed...

Thanks Rob. I'll forward this info.

Is the Volvo scene dead? Group disbanded? I have someone asking if there was a group still active in Central FL.
-
It really did. Especially when I was knee deep in shit/piss stained underwear (true story).
Will you start a home decor thread?

I wish I had a room for Electrostatic or planar speakers as well, but I could never make them work. My only issue w/ them is as soon as you're off axis, the sound isn't as good. Phenomenal on axis (maybe the best I've heard), but off axis not so much.
Exactly right.
I have two separate systems, a planar speaker and 2-channel amp for pure musical enjoyment and another dynamic speaker system with a home theater receiver for movies and other stuff...

The imaging is unreal.
Apogee are like that too..
I had some apogees a while back that with proper placement were like having a second set behind you. Almost euphonious..
Amen...I dim the lights and close my eyes when I listen to the Maggies. I get goosebumps when the music suddenly comes alive.
-
I like Maggie's.. Wish I had the room for a pair!
Yes, i love mine. They can reproduce acoustical instruments and vocals extremely well. Electrostatic and planar-magnetic speakers are still unrivaled in these areas.

Speaking of older Onkyo Integra amps...I have a A-9711 which drives my Magnepans. The rest of my components have been updated since this picture was taken.
Computer room has a Yamaha CAVIT amp and Yamaha bookshelf speakers paired with a Denon sub.

I would suggest not bolting it down there when you get the replacement OTE pipe. It's just going to crack again.

no, just trying to drink more water and less shit
Install a RO filtration system in your house and have an unlimited supply.

Oh wow, you're lucky. People have died from blunt force trauma before. Did you go get checked out?

I felt so plagiarized on there...

I want this so much ASUS EA800...for its note taking feature. Anyone know of a tablet requiring a stylus for inputs and whose digitizer isn't capacitive?

hopefully not a repost.
Oh how my mind plays tricks on me!

yea it saddened me... unfortunately i was too busy trying to get the photo to stare at the driver with a look of disgust
i recognize that spoiler, i swear... i can't quite place it.
Maybe an old 1995 Mustang GT convertible spoiler?

Rubber wood.
You might be right. I've read other people had problems staining it too.
-
very nice table. Looks like a hard wood... Maybe teak?
Hard wood, I'm sure of. Don't know what variety though.

The backstroke of the West...mmmm

Call me crazy but I kind of like it. At least based on that picture. I've been wanting to build a dining room table with some rad wood top soooo Travis you're my emergency tip contact for that
You must have been glamoured by the super glossy finish! It looks alright in dim lighting. With the room brightly lit, it looks like a train-wreck. So I might be able to replicate this look for you when the time comes, Reid. If this is what you are after.
melvin, what type of wood?
Actually, I don't know...here's the picture of the table after sanding...are you able to tell from the grain and color? It's from Malaysia.

I guess I should've used a "wood conditioner" first? Had sanded it down pretty evenly too. Oh well, I'll do that next time I refinish it. If people ask I'll say it's a unique hand rubbed finish to obtain a desired "antique look". lol.

I was hoping for a more uniform color. I used a sponge applicator then wiped off the excess. But the stain came off in patches, you can actually see the brush strokes...it looks really awful in bright lighting.
