    That colour brown is pretty.

Agreed, works well on that car. I did price out a OSD V90 R-Design yesterday. Even without some of the pricier add-ons like sound system, etc... I was at $61,600.

Fairly certain that my current wagon will be my last Volvo wagon for a very long time.

  2. Been putting miles on the road bike again, but my heart's not into it. Tuesday/Thursday I ride with 3 other people at 5:30 am. Same route, every damn week. It gets beyond mind numbing but they're set on the routes and won't change them for the world. I'd rather spare an hour during the day to do hill repeats than ride the same roads every time.

Getting a little tired of the roadie "holier than thou"mentality, so goal is to ride my Salsa more often this year.

  3. How long are you back in OH for Lucas ? Just the holidays ?

Looks good Val. I would suggest starting small on the paint. I do some paint (I did panels on my 59 VW and then decided to have the whole thing painted in its original color locally) and yes prep is everything but a clean, large space with good ventilation is essential.

iPhone 6S.  I've decided I'm moving to Garmin, just need to find a decent used one.

I noticed that the phone is giving straights across a lake or other such nonsense.

Are you prepping for a race Matt?

Not one in particular but racing season starts early in AZ. I will jump in a few MTB races this Fall to maintain fitness and will do another training block similar to my current one after Thanksgiving. Should get me ready for the early January road races. I may also head to SC and do some of the Hincapie races there.

Main reason behind current training is that I was getting bored with some of the routes and rides so I thought I would increase intensity.

  5. Wow! What kind of phone are you using, out of curiosity ? Strava on the phone will cut corners, literally run a straight line through a corner. I've switched to a Garmin, it's an older model (705) and weighs almost as much as the bike itself but it is dead accurate.

Garmins are cheap if you can pick one up used. And thanks for the follow on Strava, the next 5 weeks should have some choice words to describe my rides!

Yeah.  No action pics.   2 hands on the bars with that crew

I bought a GoPro for ride, technology defies me so I haven't checked if vids took.  I'll try to see.

Oh boy..... Cannot wait for the shaky footage and accidental selfies as you try to figure it out.

  7. Drop that stem and get your bars set up probably, you're riding a bike, not reading a book in a chair!

Looks good! I recommend Speedplays since you can clip in from either side, the cleats are large and make it easy to clip in and out. Shoes: any good entry level Mavics or Shimano shoes are good for the money. If you're feeling rich, go buy some Sidi shoes with carbon soles. They'll last you years and will add bling to your rides.

Side note, I had the precursor to your bike (I actually still have it), they're prone to cracking at the joints. I can send you pics of mine but basically, watch the areas where tubes meet. They're considered normal by Trek but they can be scary. I shelfed my bike after the second repair and re-spray from Calfee and switched to my current Scott. Still ride the Trek with the kids but the cracks get noticed by people (it's painted white which makes them even more obvious)
