  1. They were sold quite a while back

Well I guess the future is the hands of who bought them. I do not know who it was.

The only pictures of these cars I seen since they raced is one of the cars

photoshop to another color from an old picture of when they were on sale before.

Sad really sad and it would be great to see someone race them but probably

just some enthusiast will track them

  2. Is AtSpeed's withdrawal from Volvo racing and selling the cars due to sponsorship, and Stamford Volvo/Riley Motosports less than brilliant showing a sign? Do you think that the current state of the marque is being reflected through racing? Where should Volvo race fans look? BTCC, DTM? Personally I would like to see a team enter an arena that could excel in. This means a venue with fan and sponsor support as well as a fighting chance. IE as fun as it would be I do not see Volvo fairing well in WRC where they would need need major changes to even quality or something like sand rails where they would see no support. Where is Volvos racing future. Formula D god forbid?

Are the cars for sale, or are they sold already...Last thing I heard was they are under development and would be back

    in Speed Challenge next year

  3. Talked to several people state side and over seas who have tested several blocks to destruction. Apparently a harmonics issue comes into play at very high RPM. Sounds kind of like an odd problem for anything designed by "professionals" but several unrelated companies haver relayed the same approximate info. IN all their photos the blocks had failed in about the same way?

    Charles-

I totally agree and so we need to see what you can do with the Dartons

I used forged sleeves. As for Atspeed I cannot say. If I had to, guess ;) , I would say they are not making 600hp. I would also guess there are some other tricks.

Charles for the win. The race car is light as a feather and there a rules that keep it around 450-500 anyway. A little bird told me they are using the stock cylinders at least

with the Cosworth perhaps also the Mahle. Keep in mind they do something like 25 laps

and they run on the very edge of rich and so every once in a while fire comes out. Sometimes they get fire spitting out of the side many times per lap. It is not lean like a guy with a bad tune plus then also NOS (not good idea

at all for these OIO cylinders

Do I want sleeves like Charles yes, do I have them no

  5. ;) what piggyback ECU are you going to use?

And why are you going piggyback for 350whp?

On the first car we are going to use Unichip with a full non splice harness. It is very tuneable and will give us two programs one for 94 octane and one for 100 race gas. It will also control water injection. We have a local Unchip dealer with a dyno. Actually we will start with about 360 whp and beg and pray to keep the stock drive with coolers on everything

  6. Plan to run diff coolers on the OEM stuff or just beat the crap out of it will it breaks? What controller you using for the diffs, or is the drive like and EMS all OEM? I toyed with the idea of staying with the stock stuff, but once we had engine numbers I knew it would not work

Yeah coolers on everything basically. Stock 4WD, stock EMS with piggyback ECU and EBC. We plan to break

the driveline but we will see because it is not too power only around 350 to the wheels

  7. Charles we will end up running Evo 8 parts for drive and transmission

We really have one engine now. #1 will be massive amounts of oil. I guess 10 quarts with an oil cooler.

Full Gdogg Ohlins adjustble should be suspension. The whole engine is being replaced. At first we will be risky and use Volvo drive train. It is a test

  8. This thing is re poking diculous. I can't wait to see it when it's done!

In New Jersey we are building two much less horsepower cars with limited carbon

but we are equally excited. Myself as a driver of NJ #2 I can say I will push it all the way. We hope to be operational by next year and NJ #1 by September

  9. I have.... or will have two engines when its done. One was resleaved and ringed, one is not. I don't belive the block itself would have any problems with propper tuning but could be wrong. I am pretty sure the cosworth engines used the same sleaves believe it or not. I will find out

I have been told this cracking problem is strictly harmonic in nature. If the engine is balanced it will not have harmonic problem. It appears these asians had a combination of overheating (you must run a 70-80 termostat) and this heat combined with less than great balancing so I do not think it is an issue for a well built complete engine job type motor

  10. Jongbloeds, and probably used oh poop do I hate you. My friend will be there on Monday to start his project.

Is it still at Atspeed? I can ask him to take pictures for you if you want

Also what did you do with all of the original body panels and the transmission. Was this a S60R or just an S60 that you started with. Is this going to be a AWD or FWD. Darn I wish you would put out the specs cause my friend is just starting his

Many congrats you are a psycho (which is good)
