  1. Your part owner now. $95 million loan (air quotes). $1 trillion in assets, thats a monster alright.

I've said it once and I won't say it again, that fat broad in your avatar has some ass crack alright.

Stock market is still there, no one jumped off the NYSE building. All your investments are ok, and if you did it right, you've got dollar averaging in your account. Maybe if ya'll are patient you can make some money off of this, and buy the trailer next to mine when you retire.

    The sky is falling.

  2. AIG now ... 1929 anyone?

Its a big pyramid of speculation and credit and debt and its going to be a big storm of shit before its all over. We need more transparancy.

Thats a little over the top. And check your 401k's and other investments and tell me you don't hold, oil, mortgage, and other financial institution stocks.

The system is too redundant for 1929, relax and buy some Lehman stock, it's a bargain.

  3. LOL you wish. They already cliffed and golden parachuted out. YOu should know by now. The rich get richer.

Yeah I know, how idealistic and naive of me. But they should not bail them out, lets get the pain over with. It will just postpone the inevitable and pile on more crap.

  4. learning for sure. i'm sure a lot of my views are flawed due to my age but it's still fun to discuss and see what others have to say.

Not flawed, you just need to get info on your own, read the papers, watch the news, Google. Then form your own opinions and defend them. Thats all this is, its all opinion and personal position. none of us are 100% correct about anything. :D

  5. Obama and Dems seem distracted/worried about Palin. Weird. They are gonna get off message, could be terminal. Obama has also abandoned his change rhetoric and the politics of personal destruction has arisen again. It's the fallback position of folks with no argument. If thats the best they can do they are in trouble. He s looking less Presidential every day. Where are Biden and McCain?

  6. link to article?

It was an email i received, so no linky to an article. I'm sure it is on Limbaughs website. I realize the bennies are there, and I still think it's a disgusting differential, but the numbers I wanted you all to comment on were those for the POS congressmen and senators . The base salary is a big deal to me. Thes guys and gals must really love the country.

Sorry for your losses, but I'm glad you can give first hand accounts, Charles and DD. It lends a great deal of gravitas to the post.

I have massive respect for both of your families, career is a serious commitment. No life for a kid, but your experience shows in your personalties and your replies. I would be honored to meet both of you.

  7. Just read it.

I CHECKED THIS OUT WITH SNOPES.COM AND IT'S TRUE.

Love him or loathe him, he nailed this one right on the head..........

    By Rush Limbaugh:

"I think the vast differences in compensation between victims of the September 11 casualty and those who die serving our country in Uniform are profound No one is really talking about it either, because you just don't criticize anything having to do with September 11. Well, I can't let the numbers pass by because it says something really disturbing about the entitlement mentality of this country. If you lost a family member in the September 11 attack, you're going to get an average of $1,185,000. The range is a minimum guarantee of $250,000, all the way up to $4.7 million.

If you are a surviving family member of an American soldier killed in action, the first check you get is a $6,000 direct death benefit, half of which is taxable.

Next, you get $1,750 for burial costs. If you are the surviving spouse, you get $833 a month until you remarry. And there's a payment of $211 per month for each child under 18. When the child hits 18, those payments come to a screeching halt.

Keep in mind that some of the people who are getting an average of $1.185 million up to $4.7 million are complaining that it's not enough. Their deaths were tragic, but for most, they were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Soldiers put themselves in harms way FOR ALL OF US, and they and their families know the dangers. (Actually, soldiers are put in harms way by politicians and commanding officers.)

We also learned over the weekend that some of the victims from the Oklahoma City bombing have started an organization asking for the same deal that the September 11 families are getting. In addition to that, some of the families of those bombed in the embassies are now asking for compensation as well.

You see where this is going, don't you? Folks, this is part and parcel of over 50 years of entitlement politics in this country. It's just really sad. Every time a pay raise comes up for the military, they usually receive next to nothing of a raise. Now the green machine is in combat in the Middle East while their families have to survive on food stamps and live in low-rent housing. Make sense?

However, our own US Congress voted themselves a raise. Many of you don't know that they only have to be in Congress one time to receive a pension that is more than $15,000 per month. And most are now equal to being millionaires plus. They do not receive Social Security on retirement because they didn't have to pay into the system. If some of the military people stay in for 20 years and get out as an E-7, they may receive a pension of $1,000 per month, and the very people who placed them in harm's way receives a pension of $15,000 per month.

I would like to see our elected officials pick up a weapon and join ranks before they start cutting out benefits and lowering pay for our sons and daughters who are now fighting."

I'm sure this will prompt lefties to slam righties, but please concentrate on the issue. The Good Old Boys Club, and the get mine faction.

  8. Jon Stewart (Daily Show) and Colbert are serious news men. I think Colbert has said how serious he is enough times to make it true

I was buying Doritos by the case! He is a funny bastard, my goodness. Now, Bill Mahr you can take out and just shoot. Ok, I'll just hold him up as an example of a left wing limousine liberal elite. Keep your enemies closer...

Oh yeah John Stewart, John Daily is my big fat cigarette smoking whiskey drinking professional golf hero!

  9. It's really difficult for us to correct others. It's expensive and some of the behaviors are hard to change. It can't hurt to think green as long as we don't put people out of work and disable our selves and our ability to compete in the international markets. This oil issue has already prompted folks to use less fuel, seek alternatives, and maybe walk more and burn off some fat ass's. If we are really lucky, the guys looking for a profit will spend the research money, save our bacon, if it needs saving, and make a ton of cash, creating new jobs and firing up the economy. Long live the free market.

As long as I can put 93 octane in my turbo charged car! Honestly, have you ever had so much fun driving as when you roll that bitch up to 15 psi and push back into the drivers seat? Might not be able to do that with a hybrid.

  10. not to sound like a complete hippy but you should care about more than just yourself, you have kids right. their kids or themselves are gonna be negatively affected by this, i probably will too. carbon dioxide is measurable in the atmosphere and it's been going up ridiculously fast. it's know that CO2 lets light in but not heat out, if you don't believe global warming where the hell is that carbon going to go? it's not adding temperatures from previous years that's going to do it, when the CO2 rises it's at an exponential rate with the temperature, not just adding it up. it's not just about heat. ice caps melting into salt water just messes up the currents and everything. this messes with the weather system and we get crazy storms.

Oh I got kids alright. With all the crappy food they eat we should all be worried about excessive methane emissions (see cow problems in Australia). But did you see the carbon credits I could get with Global Warming? Just killing my lawn alone saves thousands of oil trees from an early demise! Listen, don't get all freaked out by this. I really am doing my part, all my appliances are new EnergyStar, my new heating system is 95% efficient propane burner, with 2-stage fans. That replaces something like 100 amps/ 10,000 watts of electric heat we used to have. All new replacement windows, fiberglass insulated doors, and new vinyl outside with 5/8 insulated backing board. My washing machine and dishwasher use 1/10th the water of my old ones, keeping my well pump from running excessively. I've done my part and my electric bill is a fraction of what it used to be. But it cost me $20,000. I might live long enough to get my money back in tax incentives and electricity savings. Then I fill my tank with premium and drive 80mph for 1000 miles a week!

All I know is it has been extraordinarily cool here in CT this summer, water levels in lakes and streams are up, trout fishing was good all the way thru August, normally a real slow time for cold water fish species. And when I get 3 feet of snow the first storm of the year I'll make damn sure you here about it!

I'm an avid outdoorsman, I care , really. But I can't see crippling an economy, when eastern Europe, and Asia are dumping garbage in the air and water like it was 1880 in the US ( beginning of the Industrial Revolution). In CT, there is more open space and wooded areas than before that time. Do you know why they call it the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee? The carbon released by all those oak trees creates a blue haze not unlike the smog in LA. Nature baby, nature. Throw in a bunch of forest fires because we can't clear forests of deadwood and clear out the garbage growth for fear of displacing the spotted tree rat. A little balance in policy would go along way. The debate rages.

  11. Where's the money going to come from? McCain's going to tax the middle income a lot faster than the rich, they're the ones funding his election. The hit is coming.

I think Obama should leave business taxes alone up to 2 mil revenue because that's where the jobs will be coming from.

(I have recently worked with Boeing in St louis [MilSpec] and these guys have money to BURN! Price is no object, no matter how frivolous the expense)

Back in 89, I had to cough up 6K in capital gains taxes when I sold a house, but I had a lot more opportunities to make a good salary and comissions that I have had under the Republican administration. 98 was my best income year to date. I would pay it again for a bettter domestic business environment.

From my old white guy perspective, both parties are turning us into a 3rd world country, the Republicans are just turbocharging the process.

    Your not?

Republican Shills get PWNED on Palin

    http://www.comedycentral.com/videos/index....?videoId=184086

Dude you link me to a left wing web site that thinks John Daily and Colbert are serious newsmen, and question me on weather I'm a shill or not? WOW. I may be a right wing nut, but at least my politics are derived from the Constitution. The left must own more computers than the right.

  12. Stalin was not a smart soldier. You must give them credit for Stalingrad, luring the Germans into Russia, and stretching the supply trains then pincering in behind them. Then again, Hitler was a crazy/ dumb bastard also, with no real vision. If he had allowed his Generals to do their jobs, we may be speaking German now.

No tea makers!!! LOL . We drink dehydrated coffee. M1A4s do have internet cafe's in them, however!

Good job on the Iranian's name. He is a despicable creature, none the less. We are having quite the love fest now, heh? No one else seems to be chiming in lately. It's all about respecting the other fellows views. Makes for a more civil society.

  13. SO when will the media call them out on this instead of attacking her for wearing go-go boots or being a bad mom? Obama had no choice but to sign on to that legislation, or be labeled soft on terror. I bet 99% signed on to that piece of paper.

Tax the wealthy more? Who do you think creates the jobs? You'll get more back if you still have a job, and those that are still unemployed don't bankrupt the system before I get my check. Earned income tax credit? Isn't that a rebate for folks who don't pay taxes? Smacks of income redistribution to me.

I'm not a Republican shill, I think the whole system is a mess of BS and red tape.

  14. Might as well just ask about nationality. I'm an Irish Roman Catholic, French Hugenot, Scottish Protestant of Ukrainian Jewish decent. Oh yeah I have a relative that had no wife, but still bore children, probably from one of his slaves. So who's the minority desereving special treatment now?LOL.

Explains why I can dance and love soul music and food. No joke. Plus I can guilt my kids like no other parent on the planet.

  15. true but the pres will be appointing up to three supreme court justices and thats super super critical.

Yes it is, thats my big issue. I'd rather have conservative judges than judicial activists that interpret the Constitution to suit a liberal agenda. But thats my political position, so no surprise.

Don't worry, abortion will still be a protected "right", even if you get 9 righties.

  16. Another Dennis Miller quote paraphrased: "1.8 degrees in 100 yrs? I can't tell that temp difference in my hotel room, when I'm trying to set the a/c. Another 100 yrs is 3.6 degrees, I still won't be able tell!"

More food production, more water front property for me, ( my house is at 1000ft elev.) And less back breaking snow? I love South Carolina. I won't have to idle my car in the driveway to warm it up and melt the ice on the windows, I won't have to burn as much propane to heat my house, I can spend less on clothing, ( nylon, and other synthetics to make boots, gloves and coats, = petroleum products) more on fishing gear and suntan lotion. Maybe my lawn will die and I can stop running my lawn equipment, use less fertilizer, weed and bug killer, keeping ground water cleaner. So those are petroleum based products, no? Who's the conservationist now? Plus all you pot heads can have a longer growing season up here!!!
