  1. Dude I just saw the post about you getting clipped, you alright dude? did the cocksucker even stop???

Yeah, I'm fine. The wife would have called the cops on him if I wasnt. He did stop, mostly seemed concerned that he wasn't in trouble vs. any actual concern that I might be injured. Since I had no injury, I didn't see any point in calling the popo & filing a report. Brushed my ankle/calf and hip with the front fender of his minivan. Couple inches over and it would have been a different outcome for sure.. I think in retrospect, I should have called the cops anyway, since he clearly wasn't paying attention to his driving. Anyway, no point dwelling on it, I'm OK.

  2. H, wagon looks like it's moving properly fast now!

You should submit a couple pictures for this: http://www.speedhunters.com/2015/02/iamthespeedhunter-its-wagon-appreciation-time/

Agreed, you should absolutely enter your car in that!

Agreed. Hussein, put in for that... would be good to see a P80 chassis in that mix

Thanks, guys. I entered a submission today. Tried to keep it brief & to the point. Including a couple of my legal pad drawings ;)

EDIT: Definitely a glitch in the logging time on some pulls - it's can't believe it's possible for me to have 3sec 80-120 times. 60-100 is always around 4sec, so around 7 sec seems more likely. I'll set up my camcorder & get an alternative realtime video. The weather is not conducive for safe pulls at the mo, so as soon as possible.

  3. Stock fuel rail with 10mm in and out fuel lines (7.5mm in/out on my car). 044 x 2 are on its limit on 812hp because dutycycle of injectors was too big for the power. Many cars 750-850hp is maximum on e85 with 2 x 044. :)

Good to note. That's well above my expected power levels :D

When you duty cycle was too big, I assume you mean that the the duty cycle was too high & fuel volume was no longer sufficient to keep the duty cycle within reason?

That's the problem I had with the single DW300 intank pump - ran out of volume (fuel pressure drops), and duty cycle climbed way to high, AFR got lean (dyno log) :

  4. More importantly, I have the subframe and upper control arms at my machinist's shop and he plans to do some kind of Delrin bushing with steel inserts to replace bushings #2 and #3.  ASFAIK, the upper control arm is just a pivot point, and doesn't experience any lateral forces, so Delrin with steel inserts to serve as mounting points for the control arm.

If I can figure out how to post pictures to this revamped forum, I'll post up some pics I've been taking of the progress.

Looking forward to pics of the bushings being made :)

I will not be overhauling my real suspension until the summer, when I can drive my X1/9 instead  :D

  5. Yeah your right, just saying this a nice feature since many people including myself always thought it was the clutch or something else causing the hang up, never really looked into it I guess. Also when doing a burnout at the strip when I would go to push the clutch in after full throttle burnout my rpm's would hang and very slowly climb back down and is very obnoxious, would this eliminate that or is that a different issue?

Fixed your post - you replied inside my post, making it a quote from me... :arob:

  6. I've always hated that about trying to shift fast as well, makes it hard to shift at higher rpm's quickly. You could probably sell a lot of those on here if you made a post about it and what it does specifically. I would love to have one!

Makes more sense for interested people to contact him via PM, since this is hand built product. It's not as if the word won't get around. :D

Works for me with the M66 trans mount bracket and the GT500 hood vent template.

I made a little video where I explain its function a little more.

I'm not sure where to post something like this.

And I'm also not sure how the forum rules are regarding such a post.

I'm not making that much money from making these. In fact, I would probably get paid more bringing the mail :P, so having to pay any fees of some kind wouldn't be feasable for me.

  7. Since that trans has the S60/V70 style shift mechanism, you will need use either the 98-00 shifter & cables & mod the shifter cable attachment at the trans, or use a S/V70 shifter and make an adaptor plate to fit it to your tunnel base, at the correct height to clear your console (low). You went with the diesel trans for more bottom end pull I presume?

  8. Bad weather today - spent hours removing snow from the driveways. Almost got run over by an idiot in a minivan who clipped my calf/ankle as I was moving the snow blower at the end of my driveway. Why he was driving so close to a pedestrian I cannot fathom. Another inch or two over & he would have broken my leg (again) at the very least.

Anyway, I was able to get a short run in to check overall state with dwell reduction. Felt good overall.

Made some additional changes; pulled some WOT values, increased timing and fuel in a couple spots to try & level out the AFR's around 12.

  9. Did some further part throttle/load tuning - found I was able to further increase timing rather than pull fuel in a few areas based on the rich AFR's (below 12) found

    3rd Part throttle

    3rdPartThrottleJan31_zps28da3a52.png

4th Part throttle - increase fuel

    4thPartThrottleJan31_zps1cb3f0d1.png

same areas needing more fuel in 3rd WOT (over 72 TPS)

    4th WOT

    tables:

    MAF7VETimingChangesJan31_zps9d31b4fc.png

There is still some minor breakup/blowout not showing up in any logs - in the higher rpm/load ranges, so I'm going to try reducing the dwell times a small percentage. I can "feel" it & some sooting occurs (not sure if the sooting is everytime - I don't make it a habit of looking in the rearview at those levels)

  10. Pulls today after revised timing - had a touch of knock in 5th (steep uphill run) where the load drops & AFR's climbed, so I need to check that out , otherwise looks good in terms of AFR's and 'feel'.

It held the timing values I entered nicely, and that brought the AFR's just back into what seems the optimum range for my setup 12- 12.5 pretty much.

A couple of part load rich areas that I can lean out a touch, and up top I can reduce the WOT slider settings to lean it a touch in the 7300- up range. I ran it up to 7600 in 4th.

Some VE changes - part load over 5K 16.129-16.212sec too lean, 4.127 - 4.911 too rich

  11. Aha thanks!

    That must be it, don't know why I never thought of that, while I do have some experience in removing a dasboard;

But that's a whole other story.

(sorry for the hjjacking won't do it again, just couldn't resist :) )

Nice! I'll have to check it out using Chrome.

Very nice looking logging setup! :)

Thank you - it's a bit of a PITA to setup the 'gauges'
  12. I have that dash creaking too. I'am trying to find where it comes from for over a year now.

Still couldn't find what's causing it.

    Didn't know that it's a common complaint.

It sounds like it's coming from somewhere in the left corner.

Take a look in the writeup I linked - the common failure is the 4 tabs that are part of the dash, accessed from under the wiper cowl. Sometimes the lower side screws just come loose - I had that - but mine has definitely progressed beyond that. I'm sure the stiffer suspension combined with the horrible road conditions in my neighbourhood over the past couple of years while the drainage and improvement plan has been in progress haven't helped.

DId another short pull today before the blizzard comes in. They're expecting 1-2' of snow, maybe more.

Added more fuel again, and reduced timing a smidge where the AFR's looked good, but knock was still present

  13. Did some lower gear pulls just to work on the lean areas that have arisen with the compound curve MAF table - found a few spots that were just not good.

Fattened up the top three rows over 4600K & pulled a little timing here and there.

    MAF7VEchangesJan22_zpse6141577-1.png

then some more in the 3600 -4200 part load range

    Screenshot2015-01-23152801_zpsa2446b56-1

AFR conversion - not sure it means much - I don't see those values in actual logging

    AFRJan22_zps1a187ec0.png

short lower speed pull, steep uphill in 3rd, didn't get into WOT before 60. Tweaked the timing in that knock area

  14. Faulty BOV / compressor surge will absolutely toast the thrust plate and subsequently the seals. My original problems arose firm trying to use a turbosmart Recirc - way to small of a dump for 20g or larger. You really can't go too large - it's precision is primary though. Need one that is absolutely tight under vacuum/ part load. I can swear by the Greddy RS in that regard.

  15. Pull from today. Forgot to keep it in 3rd for the 60-100, so I just went to 120, with 3-4 & 4-5 shifts it comes out as 6.88sec. Definitely getting there. A little lean in spots, so I made some more adjusts after. No Knock, no timing pull in this run.

Did another 4th into 5th pull after, and that had a little knock in the 6-6,6k range, at one row higher load. Pretty sure 1st one was level road, 2nd was uphill. Still trying to resolve by adding fuel, then I'll pull timing if need be.
