Want to try it this way,
Looks good, nice & clean that way.

These are being used in a lot of builds out there, so there should be plenty of info out there on these.
I run 4.5ms before battery correction in MS3x
Thanks Justus, I'll check it out.
I'll have to figure out something more elaborate for the coil mount - I can't do it like Trents' setup,
Did a short pull in 4th, using the map that gave AFR's in the 11's on the dyno @ 27psi. On the street, it's high 12's @ 24psi Only two momentary instances of knock, though (20:381, 20:796).
Tweaked a couple of load and WOT cells, see how that goes.
EDIT: Won't be able to install the GM coil packs like Trent

I did use the current LG header with my 20g hybrid. Just bite the bullet & go SS.I'm going external on a 20g and I was thinking about grabbing a lg manifold
-
Looks like a stainless LG maifold?
Indeed. I already have the mild steel version, don't ever buy one, it will rust out at the collector within three years.

In between the thunder showers I replaced the BMS coil packs with the OEM Volvo packs I had bought & run for around 10k prior to installing the BMS coils.
So, new DPP+ fine wire plugs @.026", and now the coil packs. With this, the breakup/stutter and idle are all gone. I would need to reinstall the BMS coils one at a time to determine where the fault lies. Not sure I care to bother .
I think I'll get a set if the D 585's & build an alternate coil array. With TunerPro, I can adjust the dwell maps ( with help) . I just need to get the onboard COP working in place of the add on TT COP I'm using now.
Going to order a new air filter & make a new can to fit - I can get away with the 9.5" tapered cone I listed in Simply Volvo's thread RU-5045 flows 1127cfm, VS 1186 of the one VulvaS40T5 is using, which I would have trouble fitting as it is 7x9 cylinder, VS cone (6.75x9.5 w/5.875 base OD) >Reference post
Also need to fit this & make new DP to match the WG offset>Original LGSpeed Header Install Thread
And maybe I'll fit my crank scrapers/windage kit while it's down -
Those stock T5 coils from bosch are tested to be good for 250hp per coil so i dont think that coil is the problem and this is with e85 ethanol fuel which is much harder to ignite.
Check also your cam timing. How much is intake and exhaust cam open in TDC in millimeters thanks?
Thanks. Good to note. I have had the Bosch Motorsport Coils fail, which is what I was referring to.
Cams are set per Enem recommendation:
1.2mm EXH 1.5mm INT
Set on True TDC on #3 not by Volvo markers

D585 are supposed to be the best.
1000whp GTO at our shop is running them, upgraded from the LS2 coils I am running.
That's what the truck coil is listed as - that is one per cylinder?
Justus - what did you do for dwell times/tables?
-
Time to try some LS2 coils. I had fantastic results with them.
Or LS7's
Do you guys have specific PN's for these? Or do I just do a general search for LS2/7? Do they use three wire like the Bosch? Do they need a heat sink rail?
Truck Coils?? Each coil does two cylinders?

Did not seem that way, but the revised tune definitely is too lean on the street. I have horrible stutter / breakup at part load now. I tried the richer tune, it made no difference.. Idle is erratic as well. It's been pouring rain, so I haven't swapped in new plugs AND different coil packs. I'll do a compression test - I hope I didn't inflict hardware damage. Plugs are uniform, so it's not like when I melted a piston land... Really feels like ignition breakup , since I've had that recently with the Bosch Coils from ARD, the "feel"'is pretty consistent with that. No CELs, but I didn't other times the coils were an issueWas the problem that you were hitting different load cells than what you hit on the street?
Edit: headers are seriously cracked and leaking at the collector. That is an issue, but I don't believe it would cause the stutter/ breakup under load.
Air filter is also undersized (see Martijns thread) but that would only restrict up top.

It was a bust. Car ran much richer on the dyno - power dropped off over 6K w/ AFR's in the low 11's - high 10's. I don't have the charts from the dyno yet.
Basically, it made 400AWHP @ 18 psi & every run after that got worse. We did some tweaking of the VE map initially, since the AFR's were so rich.
Removed the baffles from the left muffler - it was causing a flow issue. Probably should have pulled the right one as well. LG header is cracked at the collector, but that doesn't seem to be a performance issue.
Last two pulls had serious breakup around 5600rpm, so I called it quits. Swapped out the coil packs & then tried different plugs, no change.
Turned out I increased the WOT cell to 1.8 instead of dropping it to 1.08 Hopefully that's all it was - won't know until tomorrow on that.
I need to get some additional data logging parameters back (EBP, various temp sensors, etc.), so I can better evaluate what is going on up top before I go back to dyno again. A breakout box is in the works, to replace the Innovate Logging I used to use in conjunction with TTusb.
So, it was quite a disappointment. Only thing I confirmed is that my OLED provides rock solid boost regulation all the way up, and that there is no fuel volume issue :D

Slow progress on the engine,
Nice work.
Now you just need to alter the offset for the 850 cables.
I made the outer adjustable for the 850 setup I worked on
with a reinforcement to prevent the barrel 'walking'

Awesome. Looking forward to seeing what she puts down.
With the traction the awd provides, I'm so tempted to start modding my wagon.
Yes, no drama with traction or torque steer, esp with the Quaife up front.
Still had some knock issues I have found - in part load areas when accelerating in 4th around 6K it was too lean. Had to fatten up the table & smooth adjacent columns.
Hopefully my adjustments will resolve that. I don't know if I will be able to confirm it before Monday. It shouldn't be an issue on the dyno as the load will be much higher by that point.

27psi run this morning. Ran it up to 7650 in 4th. Not a perfectly linear pull due to track conditions, so there is some dropoff/pickup in the mix. Max airflow is now over 530g/s. On the dyno, I intend to run it to 8500 in 4th. At these levels, it seems to be happiest at 12AFR or a little richer, not what I would have planned. In area where it was 12.5 or a little above, that seems to be where the knock onset begins. Injector duty cycle still nice. No fuel volume issues anymore.

Way to go Hussein...many luck on the rollers. Mine is going tomorrow..
Good luck!

Hit 26.9psi at part load, under 40% throttle. Later knock areas are in the same load ranges for the most part. Need to make sure there is no significant knock/lean areas before Monday.
So, I added some more fueling in the part load ranges impacted, and increased WOT settings.
-
Some knock @ 26psi in 4th. Odd how the EVAP tank pressure gauge sometimes matches the boost pressure.
Hitting 526 g/s by 7300rpm. Inj. Duty still just under 70% at that point.
So, I lowered timing over 6K & added a touch more fuel in the VE map, and a couple .02 to the WOT table as well.
See how that goes.

Hussein, are you using the different maps in the .BIN for your 3 levels of tune? Or reflashing between runs?
Rod
I have one bin that is well tested at 21psi, so I will use that for the first pull, then switch (reflash the Ostrich) to the revised bin I have been modding for 24.5psi. This bin runs AFR's in the mid 11's under WOT, so I'll try it at 25-26psi over the next few days & make adjustments.
I've never played with switching through the different stage maps, that would make sense at this point.

Well somebody has got some explaining to do. Before everyone goes crazy I contacted them and they were in shock and asked me to sent it back of which they will correct the issue and get it back to me immediately.
Good thing I was bored and decided to play with the disc before I installed it.
-
Impressive weight savings, i hope the rear setup gets resolved quickly for you.
Hope the dyno session works out for you as well, 550AWHP @ 24 psi i'm guessing....
Dyno session scheduled for Monday.
I would expect closer to 500AWHP @ 24 - about 15AWHP per psi.
I need to add/tune for a couple more PSI before Monday so I can dyno at three levels

Intake 9207943
Exhaust 9465138
Thank you. I'll make a note of this .

After helping my friend installing the fixed cams in his B5244T5 engine and after he gout the engine up and running it turned out the swap is promising. Since I had a same set of cams shelved I decided to install them in my engine,
Forgot to ask - can you provide the part numbers off the ends of the cams? That will make it easier to determine if they can be readily sourced in the US, vs. using engine designations. I don't need them, but I'm sure there are plenty others who would be interested.
-
How is your exhaust backpressure on exhaust manifold before turbo? Why so low boost? Is it knock limited also after max torque rpm?
Not logging boost - I keep forgetting to mention that. That gauge is actually monitoring tank pressure - others repurpose the EVAP circuit for IBP.
Pressure in that log is actually 24.4psi. EBP is slightly under IBP
In other news, I fitted a V70 NA TB to my X1/9 intake
wrapping up the LH2.2 & EZK117 tuning

Hows the 6 pot BBK compare to the Porsche BBK's?
Any plans to revisit the dyno in the near future? Car is a monster!
The Cieka brakes have a much better feel & progressive grab. They (the rotor & hub) weigh less than half the S60R rotor.
I have to say I'm having much trouble with them sorting out the problems with the rear setup they sent - it's all wrong & responses are slow & not helpful so far. It is a custom setup, so that is a factor, but I did give them all the measurements up front, so that really is no excuse.
Trying to get a AWD dyno session booked before the end of the month. Tune seems pretty happy now at 24.5psi, so I'll run it at 21 to compare with last year (TTusb vs. Tunerpro setup), and at 24.5psi. May try going up a couple more lbs & see how it feels.

Forgot to ask - did you measure total height of flywheel & assembled clutch to confirm you haven't moved to fingers outside the normal operating window of the Slave-T/O?
