From 72 on these had the short shifter and Greg's is a 74. I think he mentioned he was going to run an M40, though I don't know why he wouldn't want the overdrive for family cruzin'.
Because I got a deal I couldn't refuse on an M40..

Thanks! The above shots were taken w/ an AB800 in a 47" octa w/ interior baffle. The parts shot also had an SB80DX at 1/4 power zoomed out and bounced off of a 4x8 sheet of white tile board camera left.

All of my parts of basically arrived, anything else I'll need will just small piece parts to make things happen. I've also continued work on the gottis, 2.5 wheels to go now.. Just have to polish all the screw heads and washers and reassemble wheel #2.

THOSE are wheels. nice build! pardon me if i missed something, but why change the fuel filter and not drop the tank and clean it out as well as the lines? again, props on a great build!
The changing of the fuel filter is just a bandaid. I'm replacing the tank with in the next couple of weeks. Replacement tanks are only ~$150 shipped.
-
Are you gonna clear them?
Might as well, I suppose.
-
Got pissed off at the wheels and pulled them apart. OCD took over and I polished all the bolt heads and aluminum washers, and even the valve stem.
Sadly, 3 more wheels to go.

at what time do you make that travel?
In heavy traffic, it's about an hour to hour 10. On weekends or no traffic, it's 35-45.
-
i believe it when it says 35 miles and shows a map.
not that I don't believe everything the internet says anyways...
The route google maps takes you is riddled w/ traffic lights. Come to LaPlata and make the drive with me, you can time me. I promise you I can make it to South Capitol street in between 35-45 min.
-
Depending on traffic lights, it takes me 35-45 min to get to south capital street (I used to make that drive 3-4 days a week). Google maps takes you the long way, if you know the back roads, it saves you A LOT of time. It takes me 55min to get to my in-laws in Old Town Fairfax.
I've also made it to George Mason in 35 minutes from Waldorf.
Example: If I take rt 301 from La Plata to Brandywine, it takes 30-35 minutes depending on the timing of the lights. If I take rt488-rt5-mattawoman/beantown road, it takes 15min.
-
From La Plata MD?
YES.
-
Oh I agree that I rather have a single family house, but realistically that is not going to happen for a number of years.
Yeah but how long does it take you to get to Arlington, VA or Washington DC from your house?
35 minutes.
-
I'm with Dave... i'd rather have a decent place around here than a mansion in bumfuck nowhere
Not me. I'd rather have space and not live right on top of someone w/o any privacy where I can escape the traffic and not take 30 min to drive a mile in my own town.

eh, not really an option. My wife's family is around here.
So is my wifes family, I don't live in NOVA. ;)
-
Single Family home in this area for a good location is nothing less than 500k and even then that is 3bd 2ba. Much more than I would like to spend.
Might have to do a end unit town home
Move out of NOVA, problem solved.

And I thought I sucked at P-shop....
Looks good. Aren't you worried about what those springs will do to a body that old ? (talking about the car, not you) ? I know it's temporary and that you don't drive it much but that's stiff.
Nope. I was going to go w/ #1000's.
#600 isn't that stiff... MY wagon uses #450's in the front.

After a seasonal hiatus on the 142, the time to resume work has come. Over the last few months I've been acquiring/amasssing parts for the build, primarily focusing on the suspension. I've got 5"x8" #600 front springs (
) and new KYB gas adjust shocks front and rear for now. I'm going to be looking into a different front shock setup in the future, but this will get me going since the top nuts on the front shocks are rusted and rounded and I'm just going to lop them off. :e-shrug: I acquired a set of 15x8.5 5x108 (can't remember the ET off the top of my head, will have to remeasure) Gotti J55B's, a set of IPD sway bars, and new front endlinks from IPD.
I also started planning out mods for the engine, originally was going to DCOE's, then decided to ITB's and picked up a set of brand new in box GSXR 750 throttle bodies complete w/ fuel rail/injectors off ebay for a mega deal. After thinking the manifold over, I decided it would probably be best to buy another set of 750 ITB's and break them apart into two sets of two, using the first and last throttle bodies of each set so the throttle position sensors could be used. Then, I got offered an amazing deal on a set of Dellorto DHLA's that I couldn't pass up and scrapped the ITB deal.:rofl: So I now have a set of Dellorto 40 DHLA's and will be building manifolds for them soon.
In addition to everything above, I still have the M40 swap to install, so lots of work to do.
Anyone need a set of ITB's?
Some quick info on the ITB's if you're interested..

is that the v10 or 8? I wonder how that WG piping is going to hold up w/o a flex bellow...
The exhaust is braced to the frame, it'll probably ok so long as they have solid engine mounts.

Judged a photo contest tonight. Had to stand up in front of everyone and critique each photo and say in or out for each one. Was a lot of fun!
