  1. On the fly. During the reception, I try to brainstorm quick portaits where I can pull the couple away for a short amount of time (5-10 min tops). Rain moved in and I had to think of something. Had to root around my gear to find the black cover for the 60" umbrella, but luckily I found one. I had a 30" umbrella in my stand bag w/ the cover, but it wouldn't have worked as well. Shot the first image with just the umbrella and built from there adding the back light and adjusting the position of the umbrella. Took about 5 minutes to get the shot. If you're ever shooting in the rain, rain drops/water always looks best back lit.

I'm with Josh on this one, even if I'm a complete sucker for XKE's, the Bugatti takes it to a whole other level.

The 300SL Gullwing is a top 2 car for me. My buddies dad had a silver sports edition w/ the plaid interior, it was drop dead gorgeous. The bugati is gorgeous, but I'd take the Talbot-Lago T150 over it.

  3. Sacha's not really taking any new Vanilla orders now so the wait is currently..... forever. He's stated he wants to work down that backlog of Vanilla orders before taking new orders. You can still get yourself a frame/bike out of the shop though in the form of a Speedvagen: http://speedvagen.com/. I've been to their shop and spent a couple hours there with the guys. Sacha, and the handful of other folks that run Vanilla/Speedvagen are great -- really nice, amazing craftsmen, and really passionate about what they do.

They certainly do -- but so does the entire handbuilt custom bike market. Guys like Richard Sachs have 7 year wait lists for $4500 framesets. Same story for dozens of builders around the country.

Did he find his way onto the Volvo forums somewhere yet? I've been lending him some advice here and there for his 142 since he got it but wasn't sure if he'd delved into the online Volvo world yet.

He like bombed me on instagram, that's how I found him.
