it does sound like a lot, but think, the more money foriegners and US citizens alike invest in the united states, the less likely they would be to want to collapse, and for this i see the 14% as a good number. If it was higher itd be better i say, the more of a vested interest foriegn nationals have in the us, the more stable as a world power we could be.

You are right. 14% might be just fine. We just don't know and those who do, don't make it clear or available so that you and I can make better decisions.

That may be how the left has implemented their ideologies mostly- through judicial activism as their policies may never have been adopted and imposed on the majority through the proper democratic process. Majority rules in a Democratic Republic.

However, since abortion became legal THROUGH judicial activism (Roe v Wade), I think that makes it fair game for a legal reversal.

Worst idea ever, you do realize that the national 'debt' is what keep the economy running so smoothly? The debt gives the fed the ability to buy and sell treasury bonds/notes (largest portion of us debt) on the open market, which regulates interest rates. Only 14% of US debt is owned by foriegners, and do you know why? Becuase they feel the need to invest in a stable economy with good growth and returns. Most of those notes arnt owned by goverments either. Most of the debt (86%) is owned by guys like you and me, who own govt bonds and notes. Thus paying off the debt would be pro cyclical and devistating to our economy.

Liberal democrat and fall into all steretypes stated. I've lived abroad enough to know that there are better systems. Australia seems to have the best balance of social system and capitalist freedom and reasonable taxation (excellent free health care and running budget surpluses also at the moment). In my opinion, Germany went a little too far, but I did enjoy 35 hour work weeks and 6 weeks standard vacation per year. Did I mention that poverty is virutally a non-issue in these countries and guns are controlled, so personal safety levels are much higher and crime is much lower than we're used to here (on a related note, for my wife and me, China had higher levels of personal security, too. i.e. one would never feel at risk walking in a dark alley at night in Shanghai).

I could keep going, but unless you have experienced other systems, countries and cultures, you won't agree with me. Ok, back to my latte and NPR.

Seems like the likelihood of me being knifed in Britain is pretty high or at least watching a puppy get kicked to death. Many Canadians come to the US for advanced medical care. No, it's all good. "Infidel" means "non-believer" BUT a non-believer in ISLAM. According to the radicals, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, etc and even moderate Muslims who are construed to be conspiring or in other ways aiding infidels can and should be killed in the name of Allah. How Canada (and all of the modern civ, Europe, Japan, China, Russia, Etc) are included with the US, Britian, and Australia is that they are also considered infidel or non-believers. That equates us in their eyes. Though Canada and China did not participate in the Afghan or Iraqi invasions, they are still Infidel.

Like so what? Who cares? I never voted for that guy? I'm sittin there with my jaw dropped and wondering why the guy didn't bitch slap her right then and there! Later in the news cast the host went on to talk about how the muslims in England were making threats of harm against anyone who flew the British flag. If that wasn't bad enough, they finished up with some report on how some scumbag NY Times reporter shouldn't be sent to prison for releasing war time secrets. WTF!!! Maybe we all should start to care what is happening???
