  1. I wouldn't recommend getting 30000k kits. Definately worth looking at below 10000k though.

Thanks for putting up the graph Chuck. I learned in chemistry a lot about this but there is so much more that can make it more confusing. The basics are shown best in the graph.

  2. Want to read my PMs? 3 people on you list I refered to you. I got 2 more PMs today for a budget hid kit and I also sent them your way. Have not heard back so I assume they will sign up soon. I never said this was anything less than a good kit. Its just not OEM like some people want. So I will say again fo anyone who di not IM/PM me. If you are on a budget, this is an awesome deal.

Thanks Chuck. Sorry. Just felt like I was being attacked just as I was over on T-Bricks. Thank you for the referrals.

  3. Also is importat to you explain how to avoid the failure bulb message from the computer, cause they will need to make some easy part to avoid that. Also a 50W is very dangerous for the volvo ECU, cause the first 2-4 seconds the HIDS ballast take 80W of power to start from the factory harness with is made for 75W, and we are talking about 80W from the 35W ballast, the 50W takes like 100W on the start so it can burn something on the car, the ground of the headlight is directly comming from the ECU of the car.

Great prices and the hids is amazing, i just want to help you to avoid any problem on the future, we have more than 6 years on the hid market.

I have had the HIDs on my car since I have owned them and I have seen no signs of damage to the harness. I also do not get any bulb failure warnings unless the bulb actually burns out, as it did and I have now replaced (no more light warning). These kits are completely plug and play and are designed to be used with the stock wiring harness.

  4. LOL. So many comments. Midas brakes life time warranty, brembo monoblocks none. Guess midas are better. ;)

Man I don't know why I even bother. I just got slaughtered over on TurboBricks by some asshole Buzz. Do we all understand that we drive Volvos??? Anyone????

  5. Do you have any technical information between the Philips and the XTEC? Any comparison shots between the 2 outputs of the same K.

Also comparison shots of the 35w and 55w XTEC's of the same K.

Lastly can you post up what the OEM K outputs are for typical BMW-Benz etc.

Since the lower the K rating, the more white the light output will be. As the K rating goes down, light output goes UP.

In theory if the 55w version produces more light output you should be able to use the 55w 6000K or 7000K bulb and still get the amount of light output as the 35w 4300K.

Check the links at the beginning of this thread for differences in Philips and Xtec for pictures. I don't have pictures for 35w and 50w. The 50w will be brighter. Around 5000K produces the most light as it is the whitest light, more than 4300k. 50w will be brighter than 35w but I don't know if that will make up a the difference if you choose to get 6000k or 7000k. The temperature really determines how they will look. For my I like to get the most light. Anyone else got some input on this? At some point I plan on trying out different kits and setting up people to get photos for me - not soon though.
