Yup, i finally got everything back up on the new server... if you still see the boards as closed, restart your computer to clear the DNS... if that still doesnt work, just give it some time. I just want to say thank you to everyone for helping out, means a lot to me. -Dana

yeah, the original plan of just doing a server to server account transfer failed yesterday afternoon when we started getting all sorts of errors from the current server... something wrong stuck in the /tmp folder and of course they havent looked at our support request in 24 hours lol so thats what spawned this whole seemingly endless process

well, murphys law kicked in around 2:45am this morning as I was about 85% done reuploading everything (a chunk at a time due to server timeout limits being reached on larger files)... when my cable modem went out. so i've been back here at work for an hour starting over. <_<

we had a slight issue with some server setup problems on our old host, so our original plan to just directly transfer everything over has been thwarted. However luckily, i dont mind pulling an all nighter setting things up, downloading, uploading, checking, etc manually. But we're on our way... should be in the clear by morning and then its just waiting.

explain... i dont quite follow, to me it looks exactly the same other than colors. (maybe you're still using the vb3 style not the turbobricks style sheet on the board? the board should look identical to the site)

could do that i suppose, however then afterwords i'd have to setup reverse dns on the IP to make sure everyone gets to the right place and updates their links/cookies/etc... just easier to wait 12-24 hours for everyone to get pushed the new nameservers

the way to mount a 20v anyways, the new server is setup and pending the transfer of the existing data. That will hopefully be done by the morning at which time we'll update the DNS. Depending on when your ISP got the last update from the root servers you may be able to get back on the site sooner than expected. However, most if not all ISP's will be ok by tomorrow midnight. I'll keep you updated
