I've actually been peaking around the local classifieds and the GTI has piqued my interest. I'm very mixed though... on one hand, the S is super comfy but on the other hand, it IS 18 years old. It's actually been fairly reliable too but it just gets tiring sometimes when the odd thing that cannot wait has to be replaced. From a financial standpoint for me though, it still is a heck of a lot more affordable to maintain than getting a newer car...
