  1. Brings me joy to hear SDM is still around, thank you for the update.
  2. Good to know it's effective, I plugged it in, put the cover on and haven't really looked at this car since. Good luck on your move!
  3. Own this and the older version of this: Battery Tender Plus Curious how the Noco works out, first year I'm using it - the BT has kept numerous batteries afloat and brought some back from the dead until I could source new ones, great unit.
  4. Says the guy with two VWs Is VS Tapatalk compatible? I've only ever browsed at a computer...
  5. Mostly the whole forum...getting more and more rare to see older 850/V70/S70 cars on the road - most of us who owned one in their prime have gone in to different things
  6. Toasted the engine in the V50 2.4i, coolant hose popped off on the highway and it overheated. Looks like the last Volvo in the family is about leave...
  7. It's all a bunch of VWs and BMWs in here now (partially to blame for that, sold another Volvo off last night) You actually still have Volvos, why not post more?
  8. Recently picked this up, thinking of going full SRAM Eagle...
  9. I had a coworker put them on an X5 (20" if I recall correctly) and said nothing but good things about them as well - if I ever have to buy a set of all seasons (somehow the cars I keep buying have good all seasons but no snow tires) those will be the ones
  10. Running separate snows? I'm fairly sure they make Conti DWS 06 in SUV sizes...
  11. Not sure, but I need that lens open at 10mm on a regular basis - probably going to stick with DX for a while as can still mess around with full frame on my 35mm film cameras
  12. I have... 18-70 Nikkor DX, 10-20 Sigma DX, 35 1.8 DX, 60 2.8 FX
  13. The D750 is my 'goal' camera but I only have 1 full frame lens and the D7000 is doing the job (literally) for me quite well. Owning both, how does the D7000/D71000/D72000 compare with the FF D750?
  14. Man you've really gone up the ladder in terms of gear!
  15. Clipless is a complete misnomer, agree. Surprised the majority of the MTB guys in here do platforms - last time I ran them I came over a rock feature, my foot slipped off the pedal, and the pedal gouged my leg bigtime. Nothing against them, but I quickly learned to clip in/clip out, those took a while to heal
  16. Sharp looking bike! No clipless pedals...?
  17. As much as I love the modern feel and construction of my V50 the P80s are much easier to mod...the CEM in these cars is so sensitive I gave up modding a long time ago and started messing with my VW
  18. Looking to replace a big, 1970s era Pioneer to get updated terminals, smaller footprint, etc - keeping my eye out for the NAD models thanks!
  19. Reviving this thread... Building a low-budget system for a friend with my old B&W DM100i and Kimber 8PR. Source will be 90% digital from a PC and Fiio DAC box, using Kimber PBJ from Fiio - amp... What's a good option for a no-fuss, nearfield amp/integrated with a little warmth? System will sit on a big computer desk in a small room and will be played at mostly conversational volume
  20. I was actually thinking about this the other day, coming up on 10 years of membership soon When I was in high school, I wanted an 850 Turbo When I had the money for one last year, no clean ones were to be found so I bought the V50 instead - a lot of the P80s were bought as throwaway cars by people like me 5 years ago (case in point, I trashed my 1 owner, low mileage manual 97 NA) As a performance platform the new cars just aren't affordable enough yet and the older ones have people like me in the mid-to-late twenties saying 'Monkey that, I need an Amazon subscription of PB Blaster for this car - if I'm going through all this hassle it will be for something worth it I would also wager that enough of us have tried to turn these luxo barges into performance cars and run into the plethora of problems that come when you try to force a car to be something it was never designed to be - anyone who wants a fun car won't buy a Volvo and we've all tried it and still hang here to scare people away. I'm split between Volvo and VW - the aftermarket (mods & parts), supply of decent preowned ones, and wrenching ease is up for the MK4 (1999-2004) VWs as these are just reaching the bottom of the depreciation curve much like the 850s and S70s were 5ish years ago... Also, the dealer only subscription software and lack of manual transmissions has all but forced me to buy a VW
  21. Yeah mine needs a new rad and an O2 sensor, interior is okay, exterior is a bit beat up...might need a bearing as well Great car to manual swap though, and still runs great aside from the above
  22. Well that's a bit of a let down, would like to see at least $500 from this car
  23. What is a full manual swap setup worth these days (M56) ? I'm debating selling my '99 as a parts car / swap car...
