I'm not arguing. I'm merely suggesting my perspective on free items on a volvo-based web site. In the end, it is Chucks decision but there is nothing wrong with stating my opinion (which was also brought up int chat tonight).
To tell you the truth, no. My opinion is that the prize should be car based considering the genre of the forum. Maybe our mods are more then 20-50 dollars but a gift certificate would be more incentive to upgrade the car. Thus it remains car based. But what do I know- my opinion doesn't count as long as people think they have a shot at "easy" cash.
I like the incentive idea... but why cash? Why not something that could go to the winner's car instead? Or possibly an engraved trophy for the person who pissed you off the most? Rob would probably win as long as he posts I guess...
Personally I don't care about the aston martins. Even if I could afford one, it's not even on my list of cars I'd like to own. But, I would like to see Volvo going to somebody else. I'd like to see if another company can do better then ford.
Although I'm not a fan of NASCAR, I still believe that cheating is cheating. If NASCAR fans take pride in being hicks, then they should at least act like the cowboys of yester-year. If you cheat, you get shot.
I doubt a judge will care if you were going 66 vs 71. There are people on the board that'll tell you to suck it up and take it as a lesson to drive slower. Others will advise you to take it to court and hope the judge has pity on you. If that's your case- don't say you weren't used to the speed. You'd be digging your own grave. You could say that you noticed your speedometer said 66 so you planned on slowing down before the cop caught you but it's up to you. If I were in your shoes, I'd go to court and suck up.
Sorry, I meant to post in the garage section. I can load them into the gallery- I can't figure out how to transfer them to the garage because it keeps asking me to browse off of my harddrive
