  1. Translation: A Republican President broke the law. I vote Republican, so fuck it.

I'm sure Boehner will use the subpoena power of his House to investigate Chief Executive crimes, though, as long as they involve a Democratic Chief Executive and his dick.

Wow. "Who gives a shit" and "meh" used in back to back posts to explain how the poster feels about torture being our new normal. How fucked up are we?

So back to your analogy about the FBI gunning down your family while pursuing a terrorist. You would find it completely acceptable that the FBI had a person in captivity that could stop a terrorist act before it happened, but they dont get any information from him because they were too soft. Thousands die instead of one person being hurt (not killed). Although I may not agree with torture to get information since there are other forms of interrogation but I cant speak for the people that made those decisions nor can I begin to imagine the desperate situation they were in.

If you are innocent and the FBI does these things to you, what on earth lead them to believe that you were not innocent? There are damn good reasons why they take people in. Look what happens when your country is soft. France is a great example of what happens.

Your not an american citizen you dont get american citizen rights.

Not sure whats hard to understand there ?

If we could we should be waterboarding every illegal that enters this country

I agree to an extent. As long as we conform to the conventions passed down from past conflicts. Gotta try to play by the rules at least so that we dont alienate every allied country.

Went to an airshow this weekend. Had a lot of fun. Sat with the announcer and the air boss then went up on the media lift with Mrs Rhode Island. It was a great day. Met some of the pilots after the show and sat down and chatted with them and their family that was also at the show. Here are a few more of the shots I took.

  3. ok so i may not be completely hammered but i just made some mac and cheese. After I was done I immediately put some dish soap in the pan after mixing in the cheese sauce. I was going to put some water in there to break down the hard cheese that started to crust around the edges of the pan but my room mate started to eat the cheese out of the pot. So I let him. He got down to the edge of the cheese...and took a big finger full of cheese and soap. I warned him not to eat it but he took a big old bite and swallowed that soapy cheese. Lets just say he was throwing up in the sink for another 15 minutes after spitting out the soap.

    Owned.

  4. Honestly, other than that grille/emblem, the S80 is a sexy car. I can only imagine it was a land boat without some sport suspension on it from factory but it has to be comfortable. Its good to see Volvo actually doing something that will appeal to new car buyers. There are plenty of people that want the sport of a 5 series BMW but the comfort of a Volvo. Volvo has a good base that they should expand on. Seems like they are making the right moves now.

  5. Alcohol effects everyone differently. Same goes for marijuana. Its not so much the people that smoke marijuana but the dealers that are the problem. When you start adding guns to the equation and lot of money, shit hits the fan. And yes, smokers do resist arrest, they run. Dont you watch cops? Same goes for drunks. Either way, they endanger the public.

  6. Holding Company. Basically I create estimates for banks on work that needs to be completed on foreclosed properties. We also do rehab projects throughout the state of Florida. About to expand into Miami area (satellite office) and create a new company in Atlanta. Oh, I also bill the banks and work directly with them to get houses into a marketable condition. All that bank bailout money has got to go somewhere. There is talk of moving me down to the Miami office to manage. Just started a few months ago though so its a bit early yet.

  7. Turn back on topic preview.

Amen. My measly connection can't handle it. All the images in all the threads are downloaded and overwhelm my shit connected.

Justin, I can type rather quickly and hopefully portray my thoughts clearly enough for people to understand. I cant vouch for everyone else but its easy enough to make a few suggestions around here.

  8. I don't see VS as divided all that much. Yes there are some people on here that do not agree with each other and like to bicker back and forth but that's going to happen anywhere you go (not just limited to forums). We all know that we don't see eye to eye on everything. The past year was tough for everyone. A lot of people were on edge and sometimes a little steam would be released on here. The biggest problem on here is that people cant take a joke when it comes their way. We all know Adam can (Justin's nuts being one of them) but not everyone is like that.

I see what you are saying Chuck when you are talking about how the forum is not as proactive as it has been in the past with new modification and write-ups. I have seen a steady decline in member involvement in sharing new ideas and work that they have done. This may be due to the economy or just a lack of enthusiastic members, who really knows. There are helpful people here but there just isn't a commitment to stand out anymore as well as be a helpful part of the community.

This could be all wrong, I don't spend much time here anymore. Personally, I don't have as much time anymore to spend here but I do try to get on once in a while to see whats going on. There doesn't seem to be any vendor involvement in raffles or giveaways (something that was mentioned during the start-up of the memberships). I know many of the vendors are active on the forums and that is great to see they care enough about their base customers to be an active part of their community (even IPD) who seemed to ignore the needs and desires of the community for a little while there. They have come back and brought us some new products.

Personally, I usually enjoy my time here. It hasn't been so easy lately (just graduated from college, looking for a job while working 60 hours a week). I know Central and South Florida has some great members that enjoy being together as a group and working on their cars. That's what I enjoy most about being a member. We have a great variety of cars here and I'm sure its that way in the other groups of members. I think more contributing members to the knowledge base would help this community out a lot. There has to be motivation for knowledgeable members to contribute though.

  9. I do not believe in gays adopting

I believe marriage should be between a man and woman and a family should be with a mom and a dad.

I am old fashion when I believe that the point of being on this earth is to praise God and raise a family

Am I old fashioned to believe that this country was founded on separation of church and state. You cannot bring religion into a political battle. I was born and raised a Roman Catholic and I dont think that deserves to be brought up in any political discussion. We as a country cannot force a single religion or lifestyle due to a religion on the rest of the country, even if that one religion is made up of the majority of the people.

  10. Disclaimer: This is not directed towards anyone here personally. This is more or less an angry rant toward failed idealism. Not only others but my own.

Most people know that Obama is a better candidate. (look at the votes)

-His party does not lead by fear.

-He did not sling mud and lie during his campaign.

-He is young, well spoken and acts on knowlege not emotion

-He speaks for me, not rich people alone

-He won’t spread the wealth to the rich like the republicans have for 12 years

-He represents people, not companies. (It’s for the people not for the company)

-He wants to get out of Iraq.

-He wants to help people live a better life, the majority, not the minority of people.

Let me list some of the lies of a horribly failed campaign ran by the republicans. They lead by fear.

    -He will redistribute wealth

    -He is Muslim

    -He will give reparations

-He will increase the size of Government

    -He will give handouts

    -He is the Anti-Christ

    -He will increase taxes

-People will riot if he is not elected

    -He sides with William Ayres

-People only vote for him because he’s black

All this “he is so left” and “the country is going to go to crap” is just that, CRAP. Republican’s and their failed policy have lead this country into the worst position it’s been in since the great depression. Say “it isn’t so” and say “don’t blame us” but one of the choices we have in place to change things is our vote. So we did, we voted out what we could change. The republican’s did a horrid job, now they want to whine about not getting re-elected. How about regroup and get a better candidate than the Keating 5 John, can’t think without getting mad, old going to die soon, outdated thoughts, picked a woman in an attempt to gain hip voters, gabbing at straws, and dirty business McCain. Republicans lost. If what they thought was right for the country, than it would have happened. Last time I checked, more people agree with me and I believe in the American way.

The problem is not capitalism. It’s greed. Policy has become unregulated to the point that we let personal and cooperate wealth trump all else. We left the money man alone to the point that he became greedy and didn’t think about the future or people. Then when everything failed, we bailed him out because we were stuck between a rock and hard place. GREAT, thanks.

Never again. We will not let it happen. All this real estate wealth is fake. All this credit wealth is fake. If you bought a house for 70k and it was appraised at 300k 5 years later, what makes you think it’s a good idea to max your equity to buy more houses and other crap? That is not smart and most of the people trying to protect their fake wealth are the ones crying right now or their kids or followers.

They should have left it alone. The market will fluctuate. I told my Dad this and I’m saying it now. It is a bad business decision to max out your credit or your equity. Save for a rainy day. Easy come, easy go. News flash, markets fluctuate. You think these financial companies care about you? NO. They would rather claim bankruptcy than pay you that fake money. The only reason they let it go on was to create their own wealth and then bail. All the while people are crying about how they earned all this money, they didn’t earn it. It was FAKE. Did they get paid a wage for it? NO. Did they sell a product that they produced, NO. They bought a house or two and then watched their equity rise. That is investing, and it has risks, hello. Invest a portion, not all of your income. Did the 80’s teach us nothing?

I said it before and I will say it again. Nobody on this forum is rich enough to be represented by the republican party this year. NOBODY. They represented companies that want less and less regulation so they can keep raping you, the people. Weed through all the lies and that is the brass tax. This new guy is for us. Let’s see if he can live up to his word. That is our only worry. Our problems are so deep, it’s hard to believe that anyone can help.

    /rant

No, no, not end rant. That guy who wouldn’t answer my questions in the Tax thread. Lame is not answering my questions. How long do you expect to be able to spit that mess? Consumers dictate the economy. Supply in demand. No demand, no supply. What your saying is the supply dictates the demand. Try and sell that somewhere else because it isn’t working. The economy is a balance and if you can’t do it right then stop. The customer is ALWAYS right and we are tired of a$$ rape.

Hey rich companies owners and fake wealthy, you’re doing it wrong.

    Actual /rant

Although there is some truth in there, its not exaclty 100% correct.

~56% of Obamas ads were negative.

~79% of McCains ads were negative.

They both slung mud, its just in how they do it. McCain was always very direct and Obama, with his great skill with the spoken word, was more subtle and walked around the mud slinging.

We could argue all day about what you just posted but its not worth the effort. Ill just stop at the first thing I noticed in your post.

  11. Obama won, not McCain....

    so no "Drill Baby Drill"

You would think so but in the debate Obama mentioned that he would increase domestic production of oil while exploring alternative energy. He basically said he is open to drilling for the short term to get off Middle Eastern oil. Of course he didnt come right out and say it, but thats the way he gets around touchy subjects.

  12. f-ing sandwich maker at subway shoves everything into my sandwich and ties it up so when I open it when I get back to my desk... it bursts everywhere... it is no longer a sandwich... it is a pool of crap

Their bread isnt big enough for a fully loaded sandwich. I dont think I had subway all summer back in RI. Now that Im down in Daytona and there are no D'Angelos's, Subway is the cheapest and best solution.

  13. i haven't cared to look into an explaination of it but its definately been crazy...i'm just glad i haven't seen any of the hail seen around the state

    :( I did...

2" hail in Rhode Island. That kind of crap just doesnt happen very often. We also had an F1 tornado make its way over the bay into a town. Weak rotation but still rotation. The last F1 Rhode Island saw was back in the 70's. I expect that kind of weather down here in Florida but not as much up north. It made for a great summer at the news station though :D
