  1. To each his own. He did not ask if anyone liked it just where to get it. It's not my cup of tea but like I said before..........
  2. The world need to know. Somebody post a pic so I know what I'm missing!
  3. Garage is cool. Need a spot for asking price. :P
  4. So, I can find a web page to argue for creationism just as easily. Still does not answer the question. What is your faith in?
  5. Extremists? Evolution = fact? Prove it! Oh yeah, I didn't think so. Ditto!! Bottom line = Everyone has to put their faith in something. Some will choose wisely and others will not. The second you die you will find out if you made the right choice.
  6. I think that if you believe in God and that he was able to create the heavens, earth, ect., then it is not hard to believe our modern day Bible is the true inspired word from God. I personally believe in the Bible and the God it talks about that created the universe as we know it. For the same God to put a Bible in my hands that is accurate to his teachings is pretty simplistic.
  7. Yeah, very insightful link. Great way for kuzia60 to defend his point of view.
  8. You got this all wrong. The Bible is not condoning slavery. You have to know a little about the culture to see the point. It was common for Israelites that owed money to someone to sell property to pay back debt. If someone did not own property, then the person could "sell" themselves to their debtor to pay back what was owed. These type of people literally had nothing of value and were basically working for someone to pay back what was owed. The scriptures to which you refer in Leviticus are guidelines on how to treat someone that is working for you to pay back debt. These rules were meant to help the person in debt and did work in their favor. Of course, this is a very simplistic explanation. To fully understand these passages you have to read more from Leviticus to gain understanding about the "Year of Jubilee". If you are really interested get a Bible and see for yourself.
  9. I've never seen anyone born "saved" (Christianity). True you are taught these princilpes but also you are exposed to everything else under the sun. At some point an individual has a choice to make. You seem to think it's like brain washing and there is no other choice once you make the decision to accept religion. I've yet to see anyone show me any proof that there is no God. I'm always open to new ideas and thoughts. I've yet to find any source or guidelines for how to live that's better than the Bible. No, religion has survived because of the answers people find IN religion. Of course I don't expect you to understand this fully because you do not have that experience.
  10. Physical difference? What would it be? How do you explain the fact that most "believers" were once "non-believers" and have seen both sides of the argument with first hand experience and do not revert back to their original beliefs? How has religion and God survived for this long and not faded away with time? Why is your belief of no God putting you in a major minority? You are right about the fact that science will not prove or disprove the existence of God. But to assume anyone with a religious foundation is narrow-minded is, well, narrow-minded.
  11. You can't "prove" it does not exist. So who's promoting ignorance? Until you understand first hand what it means to believe in God and experience the power of His salvation, you gerneralize what you can't possibly understand. How much science have you experienced first hand? My guess is most have "faith" in what someone else tells them or take for truth what is read in a book. I'm not saying that everything you don't experience first hand is not truthful. I am telling you that I have experienced first hand the power and grace of God. That my friend is the difference between your "ignorance" and my "ignorance". Ignorance is bliss! :D
  12. I'm not discounting that the New Testament Gospels weren't written by people that knew Christ. I also understand that they were originally written close to his death. However, after hundreds of years, the likelihood of the stories being altered changes greatly, especially when you look at the corresponding rise of power the Church experienced. Why not juice up the stories of a guy who lived three Hundered years ago. Do you think if a concerted effort was put forth by people in power to take Benjamin Franklin and give him god-like divinity because of his many discoveries now, that in the year 2300 it would be easy to refute? How bout in the year 4000? We could turn Franklinism into the next Christianity.
  13. I can see your logic via your belief system. Although a constant like the sun does not draw a fair comparison in relation to Monday night football. Especially the Eagles! You totally missed the point. No pun intended If you believe in creation by God, then you have to accept the fact that this universe is not a product of billions of years of evoulutiuon. Therefore, God made what we see today and much of it was "born" with age. ie. Adam and Eve were not infants. Can God not create something that has "age"? The world we see was brought into existence with a purpose that is beyoud what we as humans can understand even with "faith". The scientific community has studied other things like the magnetic field of the earth, population growth, and many others that just don't suppot the evolution "theory". But if you do not believe in God then it really does not matter to you. It certainly won't mean a thing in a hundred years.
  14. I don't like to type a lot but here are just a few ex: 1. Our sun is a star that scientists have been wacthing for over 100 yrs. and is shrinking by about one tenth % per century. Every hour the sun is shrinking by aprox. 2 feet. Of course 2 ft. isn't much when you consider the sun is nearly a million miles in diameter. If you believe the sun's age is only 6,000 year's old (ceationism) then there's no real problem. In that time the sun will have shrunk only about 2.4 %. Life on earth would go on quite fine. But if you believe the earth and sun have been around for nearly five billion years (big bang theory), you have a problem. If the sun existed only 250,000 yrs. ago it would have been double it's present diameter. At that size with the earth at it's present distance from the sun, it would have been too hot on earth for life to exist. Thirty million years ago the sun's surface would have been touching the earth! 2. Deep space galaxies appear mature (where they should be young) and much the same as closer galaxies have not evolved, but were all created much as we see them today. 3. Red dwarfs are faint old stars that should number in the thousands if the universe is billions of years old. However, astronomers have reluctantly admitted that the limited number found fits a bibically young universe of 10,000 yrs. or less. The big bang is a big bust. If you want to say there is no God, it's your loss. But certainly a God that has the power to create the universe could easily orchestrate the events of the Holy Bible. If you want to gamble eternity on a man-made theory that can't explain itself then, like I said before, you have more faith than me. Merry Christmas :D
  15. I agree you will probably not see God apear before your eyes to give you "proof" of existence. But everything else you can see is here for a reason. Science cannot explain that nor can anyone who does not belive in God. Big bang.....ha ha....big lie is more like it. There is plenty of scientific evidence to refute that "theory".
  16. Prove there is a God? The alternative is too believe we evolved from a single cell that came from who knows where after a huge explosion that no one can explain. Whoever believes that "theory" has far more faith than I will ever have.
  17. No facts? What do you read? There is plenty of archeological evidence to support many "facts" presented in the Bible. The fast is, you cannot disprove the contents. My guess is you have not read too much. Debate? The poll asked. Others have responded with their belief and now you know mine. :D
  18. -1 You guys might know your stuff about cars but looks like the learning curve drops off after that. :o
