You removed the water cooling from a GT3071R?

    Yeap and the problem disappeared

I think i know what you are trying to say. After your rebuild you noticed coolant boiling. I.e you hear coolant bubbling when the car is shut down? you then removed the coolant lines to the turbo and the issue went away? how did you route your coolant lines to the turbo? If you route the inlet and outlet wrong you will hear gurgling upon shutdown. The correct way ensures coolant is automatically circulated via convection when the engine is stopped.

I had the cooling pipes with the same routing for years now, never had an issue before.this problem appeared after my last rebuild. So it confused me.you can't imagine how bad was,at idiling after returning back home from work if I would open the expansion tank cap for at least 3 minutes the coolant was boiling.

  2. Update of the situation,

I found the problem, finally it was from the turbocharger something,I didn't search it further,it was my last chance before getting in trouble with the engine.I just removed the coolant pipes from the turbo tapped them at the engine side and the symptons mentioned above were disappeared,I have driven around 800-1000 km without problem.

It is pretty strange and impossible but this was.in the future maybe I will make a detailed check on the turbo if it will be out of the car.

the turbo that I have on is GT3071R.

I read it three times and I still have on idea what you're trying to say.

why is that?it is on the topic title,I've searched a lot things on the car already,my last hope before opening the engine again is here,if someone has any idea.

without opening the expansion tank cap,and from inside the car, with switched off engine I can hear noise like air in the system.if I open the cap for at least one minute air bubbles coming out like hell.

    thanks Kimonas.

I will try to upload a link, there is a video.

  4. Hello guys,it’s been a long time....I hope everyone is fine here.

I noticed after my last engine rebuild that the coolant is probably boiling,I changed the engine block because mine was destroyed, this was the main part that was replaced.after the first symptoms I thought compression was in the coolant but no coolant missing,no overheating,no coolant in the oil.but the block was checked from me and from the machine shop, the machine shop installed firerings around the cylinders and he closed the gaps at the top of the cylinders where is a weak point of these blocks.any thoughts?I know that I miss something and can’t find the problem.or could it be from the block something?

    thanks in advance.

  5. This setup was made to fit the Supercharger plumbing when it was first used without the intercooler.

Later on it turned out to also fit the intercooler setup. With the change to turbo this part of the plumbing remained the same. Diameter didn't change much though.

I assume that diameter will affect idle behavior if the idle valve runs out of range.

I'm using a standalone ECU and need to set the idle valve behavior using the provided software.

OK,thanks, will you go for a dyno run after everyhting will be finished?

  6. Happy new year to every Volvo owner,to all the people around the world,Peace, health, and love to all of you and I also wish your dreams come true for the new year. :):):) I also want to thank the guys here in Volvospeed for their help and for keeping VOLVOs high.and tell them to keep up the good work.

  7. sure.. for a 15G that's decent number... do you have a downpipe installed on the car as well?

what temperature was outside temp when you did this run?

    P.

    no bigger downpipe,only cat back.custom. The temp.was about 25 celsius.flat road.I'll try it again sometime,starting the measure from third gear.less shifts.... :)
  8. well.. I was thinking the gears that would get your car from 80-180 the quickest... so would that mean starting the roll on in 2nd gear or 3rd?

I made a test for you, about 4 sec for both gears.the difference was very small concerning the time.
  9. hello guys... thanks for your supportive comments :)

well i have the graph scanned but unfortunately my company's firewall won't let me access any of the sites on which i can host the darn thing... so it's here on my computer but i can't post the pic without hosting it somewhere. i guess i'll have to do this from home this weekend... unfortunately we have this stupid firewall to stop employees from uploading confidential company info to wrong places.

Well,we'll have to wait then to see the nice results :)
  10. I have seen other cars, most of them have about 300hp and less torque than 450nm.As I remember from the first dyno the power line goes to the top at about 4500rpm and stays until 6000rpm,very confusing concerning the improvements.I believe that the 15G limits the power, although the numbers are quite good.

  11. I saw to my first time at the dyno,I saw 235hp and 348nm.After a chip from SCT AB tuning(SAM knows the story),I saw 268hp and 448nm.I had an argument with them(SCT) and they send me another chip.I haven't been to the dyno yet,but the car is much stronger despite of the problems. Is that the small turbo and the 2300cc engine responsible for too much torque?I believe it is too much, for a car with chip free silencer and filter.
