Yeahhhh... it's Mayor of Wasilla (po-dunk town that is filled with "hill-folk" types and always reminded me of "Deliverance")... then she was somehow elected Governor of Alaska. One thing's for sure: she is cleaning house in the state legislature. Kicking out all kinds of corrupt politicians, which leaves... more corrupt politicians.

I got $137, for the family. Curse of making a decent living, because if you make too much, the amount of the stimulus check decreases. So it basically paid for 30gallons of fuel. Or dinner at a decent restaurant for Mrs. Javadoc and myself. Or, carbon fiber mirrors. Or, one tire on the XC90...

Well I'm sure that GW was standing there in a navy blue bathrobe with a White House insginia embroidered into it, with the red phone his his hand, saying, "bust a cap in his ass." I don't support the Bush administration on a lot of issues, but saying that some soldier offing another is the administration's fault is ludicrous. heck, maybe he slept with the other guy's wife, or was a huge homophobe, or cheated in a card game and whoever blasted him went postal. If the guy was jeapordizing the lives of the other soldiers and someone killed him to preserve the rest of the squad/mission, I think it's an unfortunate thing that happened, though it's still wrong that it happened... if it was murder.

If he died because he was jeapordizing the unit, the gov't isn't going to come out and admit that. How would that look to the public, which isn't as a whole behind their efforts? It's sad, but I imagine this isn't an isolated case, but it's not like the grassy knoll.

They did? Last time I looked they were running around with Ecotecs under the hoods... or rebadged a Subaru, and a Chevy as said marque. Styling-wise though, they are nice.

What's funny is that Ford went on a spending spree a while back and acquired all of these other motor companies... formed PAG. Now they're cash poor (short sighted bastages), so they're hurting, and they might have to sell their only really profitable company. I kind of wish that Ford had bought a minority interest in Volvo, like they did with Mazda. Mazda keeps its separation from Ford, Ford doesn't muck around in the cars that Mazda wants to produce, and there's some decent platform and powertrain sharing happening.

I heard that GM was buying Volvo. That way they can rebadge an S60 as a new Pontiac/Buick/Chevy... and give Volvos crappy interiors. Then they'll put the Ecotech engines in Volvos, and the new XC90 will be a Chevy Blazer with new badges. And I bet some of you think that I'm kidding!

I think it's better than 6mths ago, sure. We are 'typecast' though, and you're right Charles, need more P2 membership and interest. That 'other' site seems to have a strangle-hold on that market, but that can easily change with support for those owners.
