The one i bought has no markings and really looks like junk. Not a good observation after the fact. I am going to try the washer first and hope that I dont need welding.

I dont think that it was volvo. It appears to be a very low grade part that i paid alot for! Can you see the wear on the part ? I try to only buy Genuine volvo. I guess I will try a very large washer, I do not want to tear up the door anymore than it already is. Thanks for the help.

I replaced a door strap(drivers side) that had broken with a new one about 2 months ago on the wifes car. Today she complained about the door and the strap has broken out the lower stud hole and bent some metal on the door. The new strap is twisted and looks like it was not a very good qualtiy part. I am pissed and not a welder. I will take the unhappiness up where I got the part ! Does anyone have any suggestions besides my learning to weld ? Are there patch plates ? Thanks
