  1. Just ran across this thread. That is one awesome house with so much character. A house with that much land would be million range for my metropolitan area.

The only problem with a house that old is potential problem with out dated electrical wiring or plumbing.

The nation is breeding soft mushy pussies. You cant fill a job that requires effort and hard work, I.E. construction, because you can get handouts that equal or exceed salaries. Kids are now sources of income

Any one here get a reasonable raise in the last 5 yrs?

Food prices are thru the roof. 1 lb of pasta 4 yrs ago was $1. Now its $1.89. Just an example.

Volvo 850s are still a bargain!!!

I agreed with you regarding people are soft these days.

however, regarding salary and raise, my gross income has nearly double within the last 4 years. It is by jumping on job opportunity and doing what I'm good at my job. Hard work pay off. Lazy people won't success because they only do the minimal amount of work.

food prices increase is partly due to inflation and economy. Same thing can be said for gas as it is still cheaper compare to oil embargo prices back in the 80s

  3. During the 51st Republican town hall Tuesday, CNN's Anderson Cooper pressed GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump on a spat with rival Ted Cruz centered on the two men's wives. The CNN correspondent cornered Trump at one point and said he argues like a 5-year-old.

(Note: There's a 99 percent chance there have been fewer than 50 town halls before this, but can anyone really keep track of these things anymore?)

It all started when an anti-Trump super PAC used a nude photo of the (maybe) billionaire's wife, Melania, in an attack ad meant to appeal to Utah's Mormon voters. Trump fired at Cruz on Twitter — GOP frontrunner suggested that he had dirt on the Texas senator's wife. Cruz shot back and told Trump that he wasn't behind the ad.

Of course, as Trump is wont to do, he ignored Cruz entirely and launched into a campaign comparing the two potential first ladies, which brings us to Cooper's line of questioning on Tuesday.

"C'mon," Cooper said as he pressed Trump about the feud. "You're running for president of the United States."

To which Trump says: "Excuse me — I didn't start it."

And in comes Cooper with a line that's lit the internet on fire.

"Sir, with all due respect, that's the argument of a 5-year old," he said.

  5. This is pretty much sum up about Trump as a person.

Let’s be honest – Donald Trump is a loser. Count all his failed businesses. See how he kept his father’s empire afloat by cheating people with scams like Trump University and by using strategic corporate bankruptcy (excuse me, bankruptcies) to skip out on debt. Listen to the experts who’ve concluded he’s so bad at business that he might have more money today if he’d put his entire inheritance into an index fund and just left it alone.

Trump seems to know he’s a loser. His embarrassing insecurities are on parade: petty bullying, attacks on women, cheap racism, and flagrant narcissism. But just because Trump is a loser everywhere else doesn’t mean he’ll lose this election. People have been underestimating his campaign for nearly a year – and it’s time to wake up.

People talk about how "this is the most important election" in our lifetime every four years, and it gets stale. But consider what hangs in the balance. Affordable college. Accountability for Wall Street. Healthcare for millions of Americans. The Supreme Court. Big corporations and billionaires paying their fair share of taxes. Expanded Social Security. Investments in infrastructure and medical research and jobs right here in America. The chance to turn our back on the ugliness of hatred, sexism, racism and xenophobia. The chance to be a better people.

More than anyone we’ve seen before come within reach of the presidency, Donald Trump stands ready to tear apart an America that was built on values like decency, community, and concern for our neighbors. Many of history’s worst authoritarians started out as losers – and Trump is a serious threat. The way I see it, it’s our job to make sure he ends this campaign every bit the loser that he started it.

He is quite good as a tool for extremist group.

    Utah: Bernie Sanders (80%)

    Idaho: Bernie Sanders (78%)

You really need to work harder at forming sentences.  I understand that English isn't your first language but I cant help but think you fail at whatever that language is also.

What the fuck did you just say?  Jesus Christ dude.  You need an intelligent ghostwriter.

All I care is how much I bring home to support my family. I could care less about my grammar on a forum 😀

U mad Gary? Maybe when trump get the nomination, you can wave the American flag to get excite for a few month before Hillary shut him down like a little baby

  8. One of the most important aspect of potus is international diplomacy and experience dealing with them.

hillary has both exposure and experience over trump which I will gladly choose her.

Is she perfect in that performance? No but definitely better than trump will be given his business relationship abroad, outside of United States. In addition, foreign relationship that her husband establish does come in play here whether you like it or not with international relation.

You might want to look into the backgrounds of two of those guys.  Gates and Allen were essentially trust fund kids until their company took off.

Knight was born in a fairly wealthy family but his Dad refused to coddle him.

All 3 of them though are far more successful business men than Trump.

Yes, they came from wealthy family but they start their company by themselves. I'm pretty sure they didn't inherit millions to spend on their start up.

Well, mark Cuban is a better example along with Phil knight. The guy sold his shoes out of his van.

By your thinking a self made man would have to start at absolute zero.  Anyone that tells you they started there is being less than truthful.  Anyone that has anything started with a little bisquick in the cupboard.  You were hoping that I didn't know about the inheritance weren't you?  ;)

Self made man is bill gates, Phil knight and Paul Allen. Those are self made man became billionaire.

mark Cuban also is a self made man. Trump? No

To me, a self made man who started out with millions isn't really "self made"

That's like saying "I baked a cake from scratch" while using bisquick

Bingo. He did live a life handled to him a silver platter.   His father net worth is $250 millions on current day. There is a reason why his parent sent to military school because he would act like a bully and pick fight with anyone since grade school.

He certinaly not self made to anyone have a clue.

I could point to his upset win in Michigan which showed him down 20% in the polls. I think it could be anybodys race at this point, pending whether she is indicted or not

He didn't win by the total net delegates in Michigan if I recall correctly and actually lost 3 to Hillary

So your saying your a pussy.  ;)  I kid I kid.

I would say I value humanity over money.  War is never a good thing and I seen what it can do to a country first hand. I do not wish that on any other human live in any countries after I seen the aftermath bloodshed on Vietnam.  Agent Orange birth defect still happening after 40 years.  That is just one example.

I'm capitalist but between trump and Bernie, I rather not have WWIII in my lifetime. I don't doubt him order nuke on countries he doesn't like or carry my passport at all time to prove I'm u.s citizen

I'm pretty sure Timo isn't joking.  Whether he has all his facts straight is another question. Because (and I looked some of this up because while I'm finished with my own taxes I'm in the midst of helping my parents out so all of this is based on 2015 tax tables):

    A) No matter how they're filing they're in the 33% tax bracket (there is no 37% - not in 2015 not in 2014 not in the last 15 years) - I'm going to base this on married filing jointly as it doesn't sound like they have businesses that would encourage them to file separately.

    B) At 33% - assuming this is their AGI (which I question the logic but we'll go with it) their base is $51,577.50

    C) Then you tack on 33% tax against everything above $230,450 = $9751.50 in additional tax

    D) They could take the standard deduction of $12,600 (but assuming they have a mortgage or student debts or kids to go with that $260k lifestyle and that they make any form of donations to charities they probably shouldn't) but let's go with it: That reduces their total AGI to 243,050.  And their total Federal Tax burden to $57,171.

    E) But if you look at that number more closely you realize that they're only $13k away from dropping from the 33% tax bracket to the 28% tax bracket.  Getting there would save them at least $6k (new tax burden of $51,451.50) and wouldn't take too much to achieve.

So unless they live in a State with MASSIVE tax rates they're at most probably paying $60k all in between State and Federal.  Remember, that was just taking the standard deduction.  No Child Tax Credit, no student load interest credits, no mortgage interest credits, no losses due to stock or business expenses, etc.

Turbo tax could save them $30k or Jackson Hewitt in Walmart store. Hell, I will do their tax filing for 5k to save them 25k guarantee.

So you want that socialist lifestyle but pay an accountant to make sure you don't pay in your fair share.  Look up hypocrite.  I know you don't know what it means.

No, it is called being smart. Last time i check, accountant is a profession where people pay to get their service. I'm paying my fair share of tax. Tell me where I'm not paying my fair share according to IRS guideline because I haven't got audit or being ask to pay back owed tax on previous filing.

Ask Mitt Romney about effective tax rate because he surely know which 47% population should be paying their share.

who said I want socialist lifestyle? Not being Trump supporter make me a hypocrite?
