  1. I guess most people won't even remember me, I wasn't that frequent here or done huge things, but man it feels great to randomly come back here (like 3rd time in the past 8 years) and see familiar faces. :)

In the past 8 years I parted out my 850, built a 964 T5 a 945 T5. Currently having a 965 on coilovers, ad08 tyres starting a manual swap and preparing for T6 swap as well.

    Now I miss my 850.

  2. Already did a longitudinal install of the 5 cylinder in the Opel but used self made mounts with that setup. For this I want to try the 960 parts. Did some reading of other installs and the weird thing is that the threads and bosses(?) on the 5 cylinder engine appear to differ per build day of the block. For this particular engine the bosses on the intake side were all present to receive the 960 mount except for one boss not having thread in it.

The mount itself needed some material removed to fit over the crank vent. The vent canister itself has a double front wall, the outer wall being a sort of heat or cooling shield. This needed some trimming also.

For the exhaust side 3 of the 4 bolt holes have bosses present. One is M10 and one is missing thread. Need to fabricate strip to suit the 4th bolt hole.

On my 2.0 T5 there was only 2 holes on the exhaust side, on my '94 2.3 t5 there are 3... it was a nice surprise :)

on the intake side I believe all of them are the same, 3 holes are present.

  3. As I'm a hardcore DIY-er (read: broke), I'm frequent visitor of diyphotogropahy.net.. Love creating stuff..

I found this.. really tried to concentrate, but I got distracted :D

How did that wall get there??? LOL

On a more serious note.. what do you guys think of continuous ring ligths?

Never used one before, but saw some pictures that were made only with similar to this:

    They were awesome..

    Opinions?

  4. Thanks for the help Greg!!

What would your advice/software recommendations be for High DR shots in which you have to use 2 photos to blend? Been having some awesome weather to photograph out here but I believe the DR is making the picture just look flat.

And also give a try to Topaz Adjust.

  5. is that the softbox's reflection or a window? I guess window.. judging by the position of the sofa on the prev. picture

And that is one big dog

I had my first ever outdoor photoshoot last weekend. Awesome expreience. Rented a RimeLite Power Action 6 pack with 2 booms. Well, it is a stupid thing. It can do 600Ws with one boom and 2*300Ws if I'm using both. BUT you can control the power simultaneously for both booms...

As soon as I got the permission to upload the pictures I will. I'm interested in what You guys think :)

  6. If I remember correctly you can tell them what car it is for and tell them the fitment you want and they will make it happen. pretty cool company.

also really expensive BUT what you get for your money is a top notch work.. wish I could afford Rotiform whhels.. NEUs look kinda like pegs :D

  7. Nikon is smoking crack on their prices as of late.

The new AF-S version of the 50 f1.8 is out.. for $220  the old one was like $120.

The new Canon 50mm is still $120.. but that is a canon so no surprise :P

The point is, to build up a proper nikon gear from ground up is getting reaaally expensive. :(

  8. BH has D7000's back in stock. Better hurry up, you won't be dissapointed.., seriously.

+1 or something like that..

Mesoam, listen to them.. the d7000 is truly an amazing camera. And for $1200.. I'll have to pay ~1700 for one.

I compared it to a d300s.. my verdict: d7000>d300s. It only needs a grip to make it feel perfect.
