Congrats man!

Thank you. I see where you are coming from. I just don't find it natural looking with the back lighting.

I tried dodging her face a bit but do not like how it plays with the backlighting. You are right though, a bit of fill flash would have worked well. I should have tried taking the sb600 out. Didn't cross my mind. Next time.

Zaitz is da man!!!!!!!!
Any of you guys know about backspace adjusting a new lens?
Thank you! I've only had to use the microadjust on my D300.
nope.. for me it doesn't work in B&W.
I'm on the fence as to which I like better, definitely works in either, IMO.
Yeah, I was too. Since it was a sunrise I decided to upload the color one first. Usually I can decide pretty easily which one I like but this one was tougher.

awesome shot zach!
Thanks Greg. Stayed up all night and drove a total of 9 hours for 2 shots but I think it was worth it. Fall colors up near Superior are at peak. Hopefully I can follow them down all the way south as they change.

Looks like an awesome scene.

As usual, nice shots Zaitz, loving the last one.
Your PP work is really amazing.
And it seems I stuck with cars.. everytime I shoot something it must be a car
Friend's Audi S2.. pushing about 450hp
Thanks nari! I've been using Photoshop for a while now. Nothing wrong with cars. Do you have your own rig? Nice lighting on the car.

Looks like pretty good lighting the first. That second flower would be great I think with some better lighting and black and white.

You can checkout the Samsung F2480 panels, they are 24" S-PVA panels which are significantly better than TN, but cheaper than IPS. I have two F2080s (20") and picked up both brand new for $220... killer deal though. $300-350/each if you get them retail.
Great shots you guys, very awesome stuff.
On and Zack, since you posted the 300mm. A friend of mine linked me to this: http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/936824
Thanks for the the info. I'd love a new monitor but can't justify one right now. Maybe later...
I saw that on FM too. I remember reading about a big film director who bought that lens to be adapted for film use. I think one was on ebay for 20 some thousand a few months ago.
Nice shot too. Cool looking waterfall.
check some of these out, pretty cool stuff

Always cool to see old color photos. The Russian ones from the turn of the century are pretty insane.

Outdoor fun...
Looks like a good time.

Zaitz, love those hummingbirds. We have a feeder up at the cottage but my little cousins have a habit of knocking it off it's branch
Here are a few I took at an outdoor boat show this weekend:
Thanks mate. Those look like they could have benefited from some nice late evening lighting. I think that would have helped them a bunch.

The lighting in this one is great. Very simple and focused.
Serge that city shot is great. You've taken a shot there before haven't you? That s-curve in the foreground works perfect.
Practicing rim-lighting.
