  1. Roger that. Going to go all out on the block then. Better safe than sorry. Just curious because i'm not 100% sure, but the stock crank should (theoretically) be able to hold 450hp right? Thanks again
  2. The 500 bucks one runs/was running before it got removed from the car. I was planning on using Venolia Pistons and SPM Rods. If the crank is alright, i would definitely keep it in there, mainly because i'm not planning on going past 450 hp for a while. If the head is alright, i might just clean it up and slap it back on there, however, if there is a problem with the seal or valves, i might just go all out, get it milled, bored and replace valves and springs and other misc parts. Also, depending on the condition of the block i might get it honed. Thanks for the input guys, appreciate it alot. Seems like i'm going to go with the 500 dollar one and just turn it into a like-new condition :P
  3. The high mileage one (225k) i can get for 500 bucks, the other ones are for 12-1400. Exactly because of the fact that the stock internals can support around 400-450 hp (rods are the sketchy part ) i'm torn. However, i think i would rebuild either engine at some point, no matter what. In the end, i think it owuld be cheaper to get the 500 dollar one, completely tear it down, and drop it in with the M56 and have a bullet proof engine for a long time. Greatly appreciate your input guys. I hate it when people know how to make good engines :P
  4. I sort of stumbled across a high mileage (225k) B5234FT for around 500 bucks. The plan right now would be to buy it, tear it down completely, replace the rods, pistons, do a little head work and such, maybe upgrade the turbo and drop it in once i get a M56. Then again, i found several engines from junkyards with about 85-100k miles on them, running condition for 1200-1500. If i would go with one of those engines, i would simply drop them in stock, and wait a few months until i start upgrading. So, now to the actual question. Do you think i should get the high-mileage engine and rebuild it, or get a lower mileage one and leave it stock for now? Appreciate all the input. -Jakob
