  1. eyewiteness accounts say that phelps was a pro at smoking. Plus he knows quality glass, cause ROOR is one of the best you can get

I like him a lot more then i did

But its really poking ridiculous that someone smoking a COMPLETELY harmless substance in the privacy of a house, not even remotely chancing any harm to a single person makes more news then that same person drinking and getting behind the wheel and risking the lives of everyone.

Its also pretty ridiculous that this thread isnt closed yet with the OP suspended.

I think its more of an image issue for kids then anything else..

  2. You get them serviced at the dealer, there are plenty of them available in the US.

Any company buying them is going to retain all the assets and rights to Aston Martin at the corporate level. At the service/dealership level, most dealerships are franchised owned and would just be reporting to a different corporate owner. The impact would be minimal at the dealership level.

I guess I was looking at it percentage wise, think of it as a pie..What slice owns Aston martins?

Say the population that owned them, was only concentrated to the larger cities..then would the smaller suburban shops have to get their guys trained (costs $) and buy machines ($$) and parts ($$)..you see what I'm saying...the bad outweighs the good..

  3. Aston Martin's demand isn't high enough to be valuable to any company, but when they do sell a car they make out like bandits..Also where would you get the damn thing serviced? On top of that any company that would buy them would have to have their employees trained in the maintaince and service of the vehicles(costing them more money) plus have an inventory of parts and special machines (again MORE money)..

.If you ask me they need to just downsize and build everything on demand, have no cars "on the lot" so to speak if they aren't doing this already..

I just caught this on Wiki:

In light of mounting financial pressure, and after internal review of costs and value, Ford decided to look at selling parts of its Premium Automotive Group. After suggestions of selling Jaguar Cars, Land Rover or Volvo Cars, Ford appointed UBS AG to sell Aston Martin by auction. At the end of August 2006, Ford announced that it would be willing to sell all or part of Aston Martin. Bill Ford said: "As part of our on going strategic review, we have determined that Aston Martin may be an attractive opportunity to raise capital and generate value".[4]Auto Express reported that Ford hopes to achieve £600m from the sale. The Financial Times reported on 1 September 2006 that Ford wanted $2 billion.

They need to ditch the other brands they own that aren't in high demand as well, like Jag and Land Rover...might bail Ford out..

But just as a recap, I think they need to be sold..

  4. Seriously, couldn't have said it better myself.

And any driver who claims to not know his team was cheating... should just be put on a podium and laughed at. For being stupid.

I never have understood Amerca's love for current day NASCAR.

I got my own theory going that people like GM, Ford and Chrysler want Toyota out. If American cars had anything left goin for them in the stereotype market, its that they go faster than any Toyota. But the Toyota was known for reliability. Now with what, a 260hp Camry out and working on getting into the NASCAR game, Toyota will have it all. A car American's know to be fast AND reliable with a decent price! [i'm talking from a regular car buyers point of view, not a car enthusiast's]

Theres 100 better racing sport events out there, and all I have to watch on regular cable is NASCAR. It makes me sad. If i wanted to watch things run in circles, thats afraid of water, right turns, and has a ton of restrictions, I'd buy a small animal.

Yea, but people are so dumb when it comes to this. Toyota's are mostly made here, and GM's garbage parts come from Mexico, Taiwan etc...if they only knew..

  5. so should the bastards that give our troops crap for doing their job

I didnt mean it that way. I support our troops because its something that I would never do, and i understand that they are there doing their job....

...but (this is going to sound mean) I don't feel sorry for them since we dont have a draft and the military is volutary..they have a job to do and we are paying for it, its no different then the people at the DMV or DOT...

  6. i think you forget it was the iraqis who tried him, found him guilty, sentenced him to death, and completed the execution.

What exactly is the problem in iraq in your eyes?

I see it as the iraqis not stepping up their side of the situation, taking over for US troops, and defending the birth of their nation.

solving the problem? there is no ONE step (as many idiots in the US wish there would be) to solving the problem but this step with the iraqi control of the trial/execution of their former dictator is a MAJOR showcase to the rest of the world saying they are willing to step up and start working on their future.

Do you oppose the freedom of choice? Do you oppose someone else's idea of justice? The iraqi's had the freedom of choice in both to put him on trial, to find him guilty, and also to execute him. This is their idea of justice, the president doesn't have the authority to have someone executed, it's against the law, trial by peers.

Im with you 100% on the idea that THEY need to take control of their country and we need to bring our troops home. Its a waste of our time to be there, we have gained nothing and its not going to get fixed in our life time...

I think personally, he should have been gassed like the thousands he murdered in the 80's..

I guess that the rest of the world could take warning from this..but its doubtful

  7. The smoke got worse as i continued to drive today and the I got a CEL ( same as the other post after he put seafoam in his tank), o i decided to look under the hood :o . the whole area around the oil cap is covered I mean COVERED in oil. I think that may be the cause for sooo much smoke because it looks like the oil is running down the back of the block.

Does this mean it time to do the PCV, and if so is it possible that the cleaner cause it to go or is it just ironic

My car didnt smoke THIS bad (only when i get on it) and it didnt throw a code.

I ran the seafoam in my tank and had no issues
