One more from So.Cal. (as if it makes a difference, lol)

:ph34r: I got a 94 850 n/a wagon and all I have used is the 87 octane....no problems at all. If you listen to "pros" they all say if your car runs on 87 without pinging or knocking, then that is all you need. I live near the beach and when I visit my friends that live in the high desert ( elevation 4260 feet ) I just hit the cruise control for about 70 to 75 and go up the pass with no pinging or detonation. I am talking about my car which is stock at this time. But i am sure if you up the compresion, do a chip, ect., you will need to up the octane, that is common sense. you don't put 87 octane gas in a race car, do you?
