  1. You got bent over a table and railed right up th.. Anyways you gotta explain to me how a soon to be college kid can fund all this.
  2. Life time? Count this post as post #1 on my post whore way to lifetime membership. Seriously, are you trying to encourage useless posts? Or you just trying to keep the site traffic/hits up so it looks like people care about the site :P

  7. CHEATERRRRR! Did you have the SAS system deleted from the computer also?
  8. pic of the driver's side of the engine bay looking down at the IC piping? How was getting around the air pump? How hard do you think it'd be to relocate that to the firewall above the turbo or something along those lines.
  9. No stocker normally driven car needs a turbo timer, just those who drive it hard. So I think it safely falls under perf. section.
  10. You didnt' have a tune? For some reason I always thought you had either RICA or IPD?
  11. I should start out by admitting i didn't thoroughly read through the past 3 pages. I love the site, and I'm happy to know the member base is growing. I'll scrounge up the cash to get myself a supporting membership sometime, but at this point... I'm broke. Chuck, Volvo doesn't wanna help sponsor your S60? You'd think it'd help them work into younger age groups, especially since I've noticed increasing younger interest, particularly with guy's who like subs and 24's. Not that I wanna see that. The C30, S40, and the T5/T6/R trim lines are better to get away from the 240 boxes on wheels, but I still think they are heavily associated with safety and safety only. I did see the EVOLVE, IPD, and HEICO C30's. Maybe they wanna help you out too? You're car is clearly cooler. I haven't been around for long, but it seems like theres a lot of false knowledge floatin around. Endless debates and people spoutin out the rear about stuff that isn't true. I feel like one moron says something that isn't true, then another believes it and passes it on and suddenly its truth. I do recall reading that my stock stacked intercooler was fine. My logic said otherwise, but I accepted it as truth since some reputable people seemed to have said it. Now I see that several people have done FMIC's and I think theres two guys runnin high 13's with a FMIC and exhaust. VOLVOSPEED performance store! The consumer market consists of IPD... and uh... Evolve. There's deff a few guys doin outta the garage operations and props to them, and the hand-made material I'm sure is quality! But mass production and operating as a unified business with a range of products and advertising beyond the forum could help. Competition is good.
  12. Hey I never said anyone was smart... It's all about image.
  13. Seriously, couldn't have said it better myself. And any driver who claims to not know his team was cheating... should just be put on a podium and laughed at. For being stupid. I never have understood Amerca's love for current day NASCAR. I got my own theory going that people like GM, Ford and Chrysler want Toyota out. If American cars had anything left goin for them in the stereotype market, its that they go faster than any Toyota. But the Toyota was known for reliability. Now with what, a 260hp Camry out and working on getting into the NASCAR game, Toyota will have it all. A car American's know to be fast AND reliable with a decent price! [i'm talking from a regular car buyers point of view, not a car enthusiast's] Theres 100 better racing sport events out there, and all I have to watch on regular cable is NASCAR. It makes me sad. If i wanted to watch things run in circles, thats afraid of water, right turns, and has a ton of restrictions, I'd buy a small animal.
  14. Rather than switch, what about hooking the intake from the SC up to the output from the TC? Then the SC would pull air through the turbo, and also create a vacuum to let the turbo spin up real quick? This way its just piping... no fancy switching.
  15. That red car is a work of beauty! So people are saying bigger turbo? what about a bigger turbo AND an SC? The what-if game is fun, and just to make things clear, this is just for some fun hypothetical discussion, i've got no money :-( Now how does that red car prevent boost from the SC going back into the TC? Does the SC "breathe" through the turbo?
  16. Well same with puttin on any huge turbo. underlord: that mean NO-tronic? I'm not followin here. I know the ecu would need a re-tune afterwards and since it would be the first of it's kind, it would need to be custom done. Is the motronic ecu not capable of such activities? I would assume no matter what, its boost either way so it would handle it the same way it does with just a normal turbo application.
  17. Supercharge or turbo charge? Why not both? Early boost with a lessened turbo lag! I know sometime in the 80's AUDI had a rally car with this kind of setup, and VW's is coming out with a car like that. Though that VW is aimed at a different kind of numbers, gas milage. Anyways, is it possible to just bolt on a centrifugal supercharger, and use a Y-pipe to feed it into the intercooler? I noticed that the VW's engine uses a way to switch between the two, at one point feeding boost from the supercharger into the turbo if I read correctly. I saw a custom Pontiac Grand Prix GTP somewhere around the web with a controller to toggle between the two as the engine sped up. Is this because the boost from the SC would also feed back down to the turbo and create a back preasure? In which case, why not put a pipe with an "in-line" preasure valve to let air only go from the TC to the intercooler and also forcing the air from the SC to the intercooler. A setup like this might not really jump power figures, but it would make for quite the nice power curve :D
  18. (ater watching the IPD guy blast around in the vid) TX Heat : When you get older, do you ever slow down? I'm curious if my lead foot will ever be replaced by aluminium? Well this young whipper-snapper can't afford many performance parts of any sort, heck I'm still meaning to get around to getting my ABS module fixed up. But while on the topic of IPD's products, wheres the downpipe for the x70/850? In general us Volvo'ers don't seem to have too many parts on one central database. I know there's other places to buy those dirt-cheap $700 downpipe's, but a friend of mine with a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP who seems to have quite a bit of resources for parts. To name a few, http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products.php?id=0 http://www.pfyc.com/c/GP/1997-2003+Pontiac...Prix+Store.html http://www.3800performance.com/index.html http://www.wbodystore.com/grandprix/ http://www.lmperformance.com/h/12.html http://www.clubgpstore.com/ http://www.intense-racing.com/ Which seem to offer quite the variety of performance add-ons. Where's the pistons and connecting rods or light-weight rockers? A site with some headers/exhaust manifolds for sale? Seems like most of the stuff volvo'ers can get are through just a handful of sites mostly put together by small groups of enthusiasts with... no offence intended here, but whatever they have put on their car. On another note, props to IPD for their ad in motortrend! I guess its tough because... who hears volvo and thinks performance? (shh you dont count)
  19. You don't have highways? But... I think I might see the point you are getting at. No sense in buying a $700 ecu simply to go faster than 133. It's all about how quick you can go, not how fast :-)
